Vin 3024935 The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this gorgeous 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV. The Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV was introduced in 1971, exclusively in Europe. These cars would not appear in the U.S. market until 1972. The reason for the late arrival was emissions, but Alfa Romeo was able to meet emission requirements by using SPICA fuel injection. The GTV was sold in America until 1974 when regulations for bumpers and emissions were stiffened yet again; but in Europe, it was sold until 1977. This is a very special GTV. The car is very original, and benefits from a recent repaint and mechanical refresh in 2008. The RED repaint is excellent, and the black leather interior looks amazing with a mild patina, the front seats have clearly been recovered. The Alfa is rolling on Cromodora wheels wrapped in Michelin tires. Under the bonnet is her original 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with the Spica fuel injection system. The engine is well sorted, and runs well. She benefits from an MSD ignition system. The 5 speed transmission is excellent and the car runs and drives just as she should. The total mileage indicated on its odometer is only 77,450 and given the condition of the undercarriage, the spare tire well, and the way it runs and drives, there is no reason to doubt this mileage. It runs and drives beautifully! The car was gone through by Alfa Marque specialist Alfas Unlimited. The 2 Liter 4- cylinder engine has great power and torque and the transmission shifts well; the synchros are excellent and she shifts precisely and smoothly. The brakes are strong and smooth and the car stops straight. Steering is excellent, tight and direct. These cars are very well balanced and a lot of fun…the definition of a pure sports car.
