I just bought this 450SL with the intent of driving it until I noticed that the battery was installed wrong causing it to leak onto and rust thru the engine compartment into the cabin :( This car runs good and the rust hole can easily be patched. I am the third owner, the original owner had this car well maintained and garaged until he sold it about a year ago. Unfortunately, like I said, the battery that was put in was too big causing it to leak some sulfuric acid. The rust is limited to the engine compartment, the floor board is good. If you want better pictures please contact me. The brake pads and an engine mount was replaced last year with Mercedes OEM parts costing over a grand.
