1983 Ford GLX Convertible Mustang, great project for a Mustang enthusiast. First year Ford made a convertible in 10 years. Only 1100 Convertibles were produced in 1983. This is a running, driving good car. EVERYTHING WORKS, Runs, Drives, Shifts, Stops, Etc. GLX was loaded with options that were not available in the GT models. The car was started each week to keep the battery charged but was last used as a daily driver in 2002. Here's the good!!! Good solid body, only a couple of minor surface rust areas as expected, NO PANELS ARE RUSTED OUT. Everything works on the car as should. It has the following upgrades:New exhaust systemNew TiresNew BatteryNew Master Cylinder Car starts right up, idles as should, no missing or sputtering. Has great oil pressure, temps are perfect, alternator is charging as should. All turn signals and lighting works as should. Car drives nice and straight, power steering works quietly and properly. All brakes are in good working order, they were bled and checked by a mechanic when the master cylinder was replaced. Car shifts properly, transmission is strong and works great. Tires were recently replaced with a matching new set, good tread and no dry rot. Exhaust was replaced with a factory new system, sounds like it did when purchased new. All four original spoke hubcaps are on the car and the factory spare is in the trunk. Car runs and drives very well for a 33 year old survivor!!! Here's the bad, as with any 33 year old convertible the top needs replacing, these are 250-300 tops for sale on Ebay. The right front fender has a dent in it, these are 75 new or fix the one on it. The interior is all there but it's 33 years old so it has normal wear for a vehicle this age. Now you know everything there is to know. As far as 33 year old cars this one is in better than average shape. I have driven this car around for several weeks, if I had found anything else wrong I would have listed it. I sell with the most information I can and I prefer to buy that way. I would not be afraid to take a road trip today with this car, really solid! The engine bay has not been cleaned, I left it as is to show this car has not been ripped apart, all wires, hoses, belts etc are just the way the factory put them. 92,600 miles. I have the car for sale locally, before I get a thousand questions, it's listed for $3250.00 locally. I will entertain serious offers.
