About 3 years ago, on a whim, my friend and I bought this car from some smart people "escaping" California to Washington. We thought it would be a good for winter driving, but as it turned out neither one of us really needed it or wanted it. Too much scotch, not enough sense. Stuff kept happening and and we never got around to selling it. About a year ago I drove it from his house in Rogue River, OR to my house in Grants Pass, OR. And here it still sits. California title signed off by previous owner. Registration expired 4/2014. For potential California purchasers: I did some checking on the CA DMV website and it looks like the previous owner did not send in the change of registration form. There's almost $500 in back registration fees and penalties due in California. Ugh. Problems: I've tried to list everything that I noticed. There could be other issues that I'm unaware of simply because I haven't used or tested them. Runs rough when its started. It seems to run OK going up and down the driveway on my property. Exterior: * Some lowlife marked their territory on the left rear door in the past. (see pic). Its been fixed (poorly), and you can still see it. * Rust and paint peeling above driver's door (see pic). * Dimple on the tailgate. * Scrape on front bumper. * Missing a wheel cap on the right rear, about $50 on ebay last time I checked. * And the general assortment of minor nicks, dings, scratches, etc consistent with a 14 year old car. Interior: * Drivers seat is torn on the side (see pic). s/b easy fix for an upholstery shop. * Normal wear and tear on the front seats. * Back and 3rd row seats look great. * Control panel on drivers door is loose (internal plastic clips are busted). * The drivers mirror motor left/right is intermittent, up/down is ok. * One of the keyfobs doesn't work. I was using it for awhile then it quit. (This is the fob that looks the most worn and its probably just the batteries) * The shift selector was sticking in park. Seems to be a common problem. In the steering column there's a mechanical interlock tied to the ignition key. This interlock gets sticky over time. Some WD40 freed it up and all seems good now. You're welcome to drive it up and down my driveway (300' to 400' on a hill), but since its not registered or insured you can't take it on the road. If this doesn't work for you, then please take a pass.
