Own a piece of rolling movie history. This 2011 Kia Optima LX was futuristically customized for the 2014 movie “Robocop”. This was the main characters car or simply stated this was Alex Murphy-Robocop’s car in the beginning of the movie. He is seen driving it as a detectives car and then the car is shown on the screen a number of times parked in front of his house. This vehicle was purchased directly from the picture car company that built some of the cars for the 2014 movie and their name can been seen on the title work. Also comes with a framed Movie Poster signed by actor Joel Kinnaman who played "Robocop-Alex Murphy" The movie is set in 2028 Detroit, when Alex Murphy - a loving husband, father and good cop - is critically injured in the line of duty, the multinational conglomerate OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. In some ways, this is the pivotable character of the movie since it was the vehicle that was rigged to explode by the bad guys (This one is not the one that exploded on film to be clear), resulting in all of Alex Murphy's injuries, which allowed Robocop to be born. This movie car has quite the provenance as it listed on IMCDB (Movie Car Database) and has been featured in Jalopnik, Autoevolution.com, Autoweek and Motortrend. It is unknown at this time how many Kia's were built to this level of movie magic but this one appears to have a lot of attention to detail on its interior pieces and futuristic exterior design. This vehicle was used for the interior shots and exterior shots where the actors were present or driving. This car does come with a clear title but due to its alterations we are selling it as a movie prop and buyer will sign a bill of sale stating "off-road use only". From that point it is up to the buyer if they want to safety and inspect it for road use per state guidelines. It does run and drive well, just like a low mileage Kia should, and has all the original gauges behind the custom movie dash panel. Again, although this is a titled vehicle we are selling it as a movie prop which is referenced in its pricing. In my opinion, there is not that much to change to make it completely street legal. It is very rare that we are able to procure a car of this provenance as movie studios now are rarely letting them be sold to the public.
