This auction is for a very stock R50 BMW. Those of you who know BMW's know that the r50's are one sweet bike to own and ride. This machine comes with the wide dual seat with the original passenger grab handles, but a new, narrow dual seat could be exchanged for the wide. The 4 gal tank is nearly new inside and would only need painted and striped as do the fenders. speaking of fenders, the front has been cut, see pic, and can be fixed BUT a repo fiberglass front fender is included. The rear rim is rusty and both wheels would welcome new spokes and the hubs glass-beaded before putting new tires on. The carbs could use some adjusting as one float seems to stick the little I've ridden it. I bought a '68 r50/2 in 1979 and still enjoy it and have since bought another '68 r50 too, so I don't really need 3 ? lol? There is also the luggage rack on the rear fender. I also have carb rubbers for this machine . This bike comes with the standard U.S. high handlebars. This will make someone a very reliable machine I believe with just a little time, love and $$ too. Anyone reading this auction already knows the history of bmw 500cc machine....since 1923. Seems they got the bugs out after 40+ years, eh?
