1966 LAND ROVER DEFENDER SERIES IIA BOUGHT FROM A LOCAL PROPERTY OWNER AND COLLECTOR WHO HAD HOPES OF RESTORING BUT DID NOT HAVE THE TIME TO DO SO… ORIGINAL FLORIDA DEFENDER SERIES IIA THAT WAS USED TO TOW A SMALL BOAT. SEVERE REAR FRAME ROT DUE TO DROPPING A BOAT IN AND OUT THE WATER… PAINT APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL , BUT COULD HAVE BEEN REPAINTED AT SOME POINT ? OVERALL BODY IS PRETTY STRAIGHT AND SOLID , OUTSIDE OF THE RUST / ROT OF THE REAR OF THE FRAME. SOLID FLOORS, BED, ROCKERS AND FIREWALL. INTERIOR DOES SHOW ITS AGE. SOME OF THE GAUGES WORK – VOLT, GAS… DIDN’T SEE ANY OTHER GAUGES WORKING ? HAVE NOT TRIED LIGHTS, WIPERS, HORN- DO NOT KNOW IF THEY WORK ? *BELIEVED TO BE* ORIGINAL INLINE SIX CYLINDER AND DRIVE TRAIN. DOES START AND RUN. DOES HAVE A LITTLE TROUBLE IDLING WHEN COLD- ONCE WARMED UP IT DOES IDLE. MANUAL TRANSMISSION DOES ENGAGE, BUT I’VE ONLY USED FIRST AND REVERSE. E-BRAKE DOES NOT WORK.
