NO RESERVE For sale is my 1972 Mercedes Benz 350Sl. She was the 5528th built in 06/1972. I have owned her for 4.5 yrs. I bought her with 96000 mls and now she has 114000. In that time I have replaced the water pump, fan clutch, alternator, oil hoses, trans mount, rubber seal around soft top bonnet, brake reservoir, transmission mount and headrests. Since she is a '72 she has a 4.5ltr V8 with 230hp and 231fp of torque. No smog or emission controls and the smaller and more desirable European bumpers aval only for '72 and part of '73. This is the first year of this body style and only year with the higher horse powered 4.5ltr engine. The following year they lowered the hp and added smog controls. Being a Mercedes she drives like a dream, floats like a cloud, is an automatic, has pwr steering and brakes, air cond(conv to R-134a), pwr windows, 4 wheel disc brakes and wire wheels. She has no problem running on premium unleaded. Painted in the very desirable silver grey with black interior she gets thumbs up where ever she goes. I have recently become unemployed and need the money more. This the only reason I'm selling her, so my lost is your gain. You can drive her as is. The paint does have some small areas that need attention, but no rust showing. I have kept her stored in my attached garage since I bought her. The soft top is in excellent shape and fits very tight. I have only attached the hard top for the photos and have kept it in the garage since I bought her. There is some rust under the driver and passenger seats. They have been repaired with sheet metal and fiberglass and covered with spray-on rubber. The seats sit on a separate framed area and do not bolt to these patches. She was like this when I bought her. I have never had any trouble from this when driving. This is a no reserve auction. As is, where is. Buyer to arrange to shipping at buyers expense.
