Vehicle Detail
This listing is for an absolutely beautiful 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe. For those of you that are unaware of the legendary 993, this model was the last of the "true 911" models. This car is air-cooled and a direct descendant of the original 911. You can search WikiPedia for "Porsche 993" to learn more. I'm only aware of one other 993 in this condition in this hemisphere. EVERYTHING WORKS ON THIS CAR - NO SURPRISES 12,095 original miles3.6 liter air-cooled flax six "vario-ram" engine - 282HP6 speed manual transmissionBlack non-metallic paintBlack leather interior with dual power seatsDriver and passenger airbagsPower moonroofAir conditioningAutomatic spoiler - up at 50mph, retracts at 8mphOriginal Becker cassette playerOriginal 18" turbo "technology" hollow spoke wheels (not aftermarket, original option wheels)Like new Michelin Pilot Sport tires (Porsche approved upgrade from factory)New Lloyds carpet mats (originals are underneath and have never been stepped on)Other than the aftermarket oval exhaust tips and K&N filter, this car is exactly as it rolled off the assembly line in 1997 at Stuttgart, Germany. This car is absolutely beautiful and wins every car show I have ever entered. Best in class and best in show every where we go. This car was originally sold in Houston, TX to the original owner. He moved to Austin, TX sometime before 2008 and traded it for a Porsche Boxter S in that year. The car had 9,228 miles on it. I bought this car after the dealer gave me a call to tell me what was happening with the sale. I took delivery (paid cash) for the car and drove away laughing before the original owner got the keys to his new Boxster. I've had it ever since, so officially, I'm the second owner. The car now has 12,095 miles on it and is in better shape then when I bought it. I replaced items like a nasty ashtray (never smoked, but glued felt inside so change wouldn't rattle around) and hood/trunk struts and wipers. I have all service records (up to date), and record of every part I've ever purchased for it (original Porsche whenever possible) as well as the parts that were removed (with exception of wear items). I have the 2 original keys, manual with leather case, original radio security code and other odds and ends that came with the car. Only minor service has been performed (oil changes, brake fluid changes) have ever been performed on this car. No engine or transmission rebuilds. The car is clear of any issues now or ever in the past. The car doesn't have a single leak (unlike most examples of this vintage) and when the aerodynamic panels are removed to change the oil, you can clearly see that the factory cosmoline is still on the engine and transmission. The wheels are perfect, no road rash of any kind. They have the original finish and center caps, never refurbished or replaced. I wax it regularly with Meguiar's Gold Class wax and never touch it with anything but fresh, new microfiber towels. Bid with confidence...this car is no joke and is the real deal. You will see on the vehicle history report that it failed emissions twice. This is not the case. While in storage (during my last relocation), the battery was removed. This reset the ECU's emissions data. It was not "ready" to be tested and failed. After driving around for a while, the fault cleared in the ECU as it "learned" to manage the engine and passed emissions with flying colors. I don't have time to play games, don't bid if you don't have the cash or don't intend on making this baby yours. I will only sell this vehicle to those that have a reputable standing with Ebay and are located in the United States. I will work with you to ship this vehicle from my residence, but shipping is at your expense. Thanks for looking! If you want more pics of something specific, let me know. Make me an offer and lets see where it goes.
