1946 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe!!!! I'm listing this car for a family member who does not have an E'bay account. This car is located in the dry climate of Amarillo, Texas and has been in storage for many years. It is NOT a driver in its current condition. The engine will start and run off an auxiliary fuel canister, however the carbureter loads up and causes a rough idle. Engine does not smoke or have any unusual noises. All obvious indications are that this engine is a good engine. Was told by previous owner that engine had been overhauled in the past. The fuel tank will need to be flushed and cleaned. Gentleman, this is a super nice post-war Ford Coupe with very nice patina that will make any old Ford car enthusiast break into a cold sweat. Rust free and 95% complete body. Unusually straight body with only minor dings here and there!!! How many cars of this era do you see available on the market today in this condition? Truly a unique find for building a car to fit your own personal taste. Many ways for you to go with this car in its current state. Notice that the car sits up as good as it did when it was new and does not have that " old tired, worn-out and shaken to pieces look". This suggests this car has had a good life. The 1946 Super Deluxe model of this year was Ford's "top of the line automobile". Several nice upgrades or enhancements were included in the "Super Deluxe" package. This included many extra interior and exterior trim pieces as well as a Zenith radio. Only the Super Deluxe models were equipped with the powerful 239 cubic inch V8 flathead 100 H.P. engine as standard equipment. This engine is also affectionately known by many gearheads today as the "Flattie engine". The 1946 year and body style of Ford has certainly evolved into a highly sought after car by street rodders, rat rodders and Ford purests alike. A very nice unique feature has also been added, its equipped with an Edmond Aluminum High Rise Intake with 2 deuce Ford model 59 2 barrel carbs. How cool is that?? Car has good glass but is showing its age with some bubbling. Interior is complete with the exception of a few dash knobs that are missing. Very nice uncut dash with excellent original steering wheel and horn ring. Even has the hard to find original Zenith radio. New period correct hub caps and good used ribbed trim rings. Tires are old but hold air. Original Ford body color was "Henry Ford Black" but painted blue many years ago with red primer now showing through in areas. The factory wiring harness has been removed, however enough wiring remains to start the engine. The original wiring harness is still available with car for the original bulb sockets to dash area and tail lights. Floorboards and trunk areas are very solid, rust free and clean. All stainless body trim is in good condition. Original deluxe interior with all stainless trim on interior panels and factory ash trays are still intact. The frame has been cleaned and painted at some point in years past with a nice coat of black paint. The grill and bumpers are in excellent condition. All exterior lenses are in tack and in good condition. The frame is evidently from another 1946 car because the numbers on frame do not match the numbers on title. I have no idea why this was done, but upon examining this car closely, there are no signs of serious body damage anywhere. If you are looking for a really good unrestored Ford of this era, you would be very hard pressed to find a better car to begin your restoration. The title is a good clean Texas title. Amarillo's zip code for shipping cost estimates is 79109. Whats missing on this car:Both windshield wiper arms are missing. The original number "8" lettering on hood ornament is missing.Correct heater is available and included with car, but not installed at this time.Carburetor linkage is complete from gas pedal to primary carburetor, but the progressive linkage for secondary carburetor is missing.Right hand door opening seal plate is missing. Spare tire and steel wheel missing.Original bumper jack and lug wrench are missing.A few dash knobs are missing. What you see is what you get. No warranties implied or expressed.
