I own a 1968 Jeepster Commando 4x4 in running condition. I bought it 3 years ago with the hopes of restoring it to original but have not had the time, space, nor skills to do so. It will run...however the wire to the ignition switch (where the key goes) has come loose and needs to be reattached to the correct post for it to start. Also, the headlights and tail lights need to be wired correctly. They work, but wires under the dash may not be connected correctly. This Jeep has a Dauntless V6 (used in Buicks also at that time), manual 3 speed transmission, manual steering, and manual brakes. It does have a newly installed electric fuel pump with a toggle switch on the dash. I purchased several original parts on ebay to restore this vehicle including hubcaps, emblems, a rear seat cover, original radio, shop manual, owner's manual, and a few other original bits and pieces. The seats are covered in a blue denim but were originally black vinyl/leather. I do have an original black cover for the back seat. There is also blue carpet throughout that is in good shape but can easily be removed. Missing a few items such as glove compartment box and latch, cigarette lighter, correct side mirror. These items can be found on ebay or Jeepster websites. Thousands invested. Jeep is in Leander, TX which is in the Austin area. More pics will be posted soon.
