Vehicle Detail
I bought this bike with 6,000 miles on it and road it cross country a couple of times. It has never given me any trouble whatsoever and is a fabulous machine. It cruises very nicely at 90 mph with the heated grips turned up and the nice quite purr of the Staintune pipes. I love this bike, but I just can't justify keeping it at the moment. I'm just out of space and low on free time, so this one has to go. All services are up to date. Air filter, plugs, engine oil, gearbox oil, final drive oil, valve adjustment, throttle body synchronization have all been done within the past 6 months of my return from the last trip. It should probably have a clutch and brake fluid flush sometime within the next year, but everything else has been handled. Both valve cover gaskets, main ignition coils, and spark plug tubes have been replaced in the past month. Everything works...even the clock. When I bought this bike, it had been sitting for a couple years, so I went ahead and fixed anything I could find. I am a mechanic by trade and take very good care of my bikes and other vehicles. If you have any specific questions about the services, feel free to ask. Changes from stock are pretty minor: - Staintune full stainless exhaust system. Hand polished underseat mufflers and I had the headpipes and mid pipe ceramic coated before my last trip. They still look very good. This is a VERY expensive system that is no longer even manufactured. I took a lot of work to source one of these kits and then have it all cleaned up, coated, and refurbished. - LED rear low profile turn indicators. Made in USA, super high quality, I don't buy junk. Flasher circuit board modified to work with LEDs (otherwise they flash twice as fast as normal). - Front and rear carbon fenders/huggers. Real carbon. No plastic coated junk. - Tinted windscreen. The stock one was damaged by a rock somewhere in Illinois last year. - Battery tender pigtail installed - Charcoal canister removed and evap hoses rerouted underneath bike - Keyed oil filter cap (BMW part) Includes all original manuals and the CD ROM that came with it. Extra keys and even the rear passenger seat cover if I can find it. Yes, it needs tires. Since tires are a matter of preference, I have not replaced them. I usually do this because half the times I've purchased a bike with fresh rubber, it wasn't something I wanted anyway.
