I’m selling this for a friend of mine. This is a 1979 Chevrolet Silverado C20 4x4 Trailering Special. It came out of Oregon and it is probably one of the most solid Chevy truck of them years that I have seen in a long time. Can’t find any holes rusted through anywhere. It does have surface rust on the frame, in the bed and on the inner fenders but nothing rusted through. This is what they call a Trailering Special which I’ve never heard of until this one. It has 350 four barrel, 4:10 gears and turbo 400 transmission. The engine has been replaced with a GM target motor. The transmission shifts tight and the 4wd works good with no issues. Electrically everything works, all the gauges, lights, turn signals and even the cruise control. The AC does kick on but no cold air. The guy he bought it from claims the mileage is correct but there is no way to prove that. It read 81000 miles. I would say he is probably right because the interior is in nice shape. Even the tilt steering is tight. It does have a cracked dash. The guy he bought it from had a camper on it for most of its life so the tailgate is almost like new. It is going to need a few things done. The exhaust is going to need replaced and going to need the carb rebuilt or a new one because it seems to run a little rough. He does have the build sheet and the Oregon title. I would of like to own this truck myself but don’t have the time to restore it. I think if someone would put a lift kit on it and oversize tires and a few other things it would be an awesome truck to drive around.
