1970 Triumph Bonneville

Here is a real nice old 1970 Triumph Bonneville. It has less than 9000 miles showing. I think that is correct, as according to the former owner, he was the second owner. When his wife passed away in 1989, and he parked the bike, and never rode it again. It was stored properly and was in his garage since then. Not heated, but dry storage. It has a clean Michigan title. The frame and motor have matching numbers. I have since, installed a new battery, cleaned and rebuilt the Amals. It also has new throttle cables. I installed new Dunlop K70 tires and new tubes, (I don't trust old tires no matter how good they look), new air filter elements and changed the fluids. It has fresh fuel lines, filters and fresh fuel. This bike has never been molested and is a true survivor, The wiring looks new, the seat has no damage, the seat pan looks almost new underneath. There are two (2) keys to the ign. switch, but I do not have a key to the fork lock. The bike started second kick and after adjustment of the carbs, settled into a nice idle. It runs very strong. The clutch feels good, it shifts well and the brakes feel good. Everything works on the bike. I installed a new headlamp switch as the old one seemed unreliable. These bikes are getting very hard to find in this original condition. Every thing that was on this Bonneville when new, is still here. The paint is not as nice as the pictures show. It's passable for a rider, but a new paint job would probably be in order at some point. I did some cleaning, but you would probably want to do some more. The 1970 Bonneville is probably the most desirable of the unit 650 cc Triumphs. Pick up this item in South Lyon MI, or consider shipping costs from zip 48178 when bidding.
