I recently purchased a 2000 Honda Insight with 34,069 original miles from a Southern California City. The city registered it on 12/08/2000 with 83 miles on the odometer. The title was issued to the city on 12/20/2000. They had possession of and maintained it until I purchased it. All systems are operational . (The Auto Idle Stop took me awhile to get used to, the engine will really restart itself!) It is in very good mechanical conditional and ORIGINAL. The Owner’s Manual (all 250 pages of it) is in the glove-box. The spare tire has never been used. The lug wrench is still in bubble wrap inside its vinyl pouch, and another larger vinyl pouch encloses the unused jack. The original IMA battery had been replaced in 2012. On November 21, 2015 with the mileage of 34,295, I had Hybrid Revolt install a New High Current 8 Amp Hour IMA Battery. It has a 3-year Transferable Warranty. The California Registration expires on October 08, 2016. The car is a pleasure to drive. It is very nimble and quick, not to mention the 65 to 75 mpg on the indicator. The silver paint is the only item that needs to be addressed. The city had put its logos on the Insight. They were removed before being sold, but are still slightly noticeable. The paint on the hood is dull- looking and the paint on the 39 inch by 32 inch top of the Insight is faded. The reason that the paint problem had not been addressed by me before will become evident as you read the following print in bold format. There is only one insurmountable problem for me. It’s the 5-speed manual transmission! Due to the fact that I’m 83 years young and haven’t driven a car with a manual transmission in years, especially in traffic, my left knee limited my driving time to 25 minutes.
