The Ford 6.0 liter diesel is known to be one of the most durable ever made once the EGR is deleted and the exhaust flows more freely. Head gaskets replaced, and head bolts replaced. There only three negative items with Truck: First, the previous owner had large bushwhacker fender flares on the back wheel arches which were bolted to the fenders. The aluminum bases for the bolts are still in the fenders so either new flares need to be reinstalled (about $400), or the bases removed and fenders painted (about $750). I just left them because they don't really bother me. I had planned on just putting the fender flares on, but never got around to it. The second minor issue is that a touch screen Pioneer head unit has replaced the factory radio, so the steering wheel controls and back seat dvd player are inoperative. The positive side of this is that the touch screen Pioneer has better sound, a back up camera (pretty helpful), and current technology hands free Bluetooth for both phone and audio and can receive Sat radio and play dvds. I do not have the stock radio, but they are very plentiful and easy to find if you wanted to replace the Pioneer with the original. The last potential detrimental issue is the rebuilt title. The truck was involved in a front end accident about five years ago. Being a rust free, low mileage Excursion, someone bought it for the purpose of converting the front end into the Harley Davidson Super Duty Custom, obviously turning lemons into lemonade. I do not have the pictures or information about the accident, but you can see the car fax history, included here. The truck doesn't pull, vibrate, shimmy, or anything of that nature, and goes down the road with a tighter front end than my other two Excursions did (I snowplowed with them and the steering on both got a little "vague" on center - I think it might just have been wear and tear as they had 240,000 and 360,000 miles respectively). The rebuilt title can be registered in most states with no additional problems or steps involved. Some states require inspections to make sure no stolen parts were used in the rebuild, but that is normally when first titling a salvage title car to the rebuilt or reconstructed title. Rebuilt titled cars resell for 10 to 30% less than vehicles with titles that are not rebuilt or reconstructed. Please check with your state before bidding, or call me (518) 527-8635, and I will be glad to check on the specifics in your state for you. I would encourage you to purchase a buyer's inspection from a local mechanic in the Albany, New York area, or come check the truck out yourself. It is registered and insured so you won't need a dealer plate for a test drive. If you are the winning bidder and complete the sale by wiring the purchase price and then decide when you come to pick it up that you are not totally thrilled with the truck, you do not have to take it, and your money will be refunded. This is different than bidding and then not paying, and not coming to pick up the vehicle, which is just a waste of everyone's time. I will cooperate with any shipping you may need, it seems to run about 60 cents a mile, depending on whether you live near a heavily trafficked route. I would even consider delivering the truck, and flying back as it is a very comfortable cruiser.
