Meet Betsy! We rescued her from a NC driveway where she has been sitting, not driven for over 12 years! She's a project, and with a little fun, TLC, tune up, and check the brake system out, you could be driving her in a few weekends, while your working on the cosmetics. She turnovers and runs with squirting a little starting fluid down her intake, and will need the fuel system cleaned as the gas is old. Still has the original fuel injection system. She has a little rust around the windows, with the worst spots being both the drivers and passengers foot steps. The battery tray is also shot, but most of them all. Betsy has never been hit, according to the previous owner, with no vehicle damage found during our inspection. All glass is good, and all door latches and locks also work. Seats are in decent shape, but the middle seat has been lost for awhile (they can be found on ebay and Samba VW). The cargo and front floors are in good shape, as well as the rear deck, and can be easily painted if you choose. It still wears its original color, and appears to have had a repaint at some time in her life. All 4 tires are dry rotted and will need to be replaced. We have the original jack, owners manual as well as a maintenance manual. There's also a new fuel pump included. We all know the Bay windows are going up in price, because the splittys are nuts in cost. I've priced this extremely fair for a family project to work on and enjoy, as you won't find another complete VW Bus like this anywhere for this kind of money. I've been very honest in noting the tires are dry rotted, plus it turns over on starting fluid only, as the fuel in the tank needs to be drained, flushed and cleaned. Also recommend installing the new fuel pump while you have it. The gas is old. It needs a tune up, and I'd check the brakes out as well. So you'll need to trailer it home, but with some effort and maybe a buddy to pump the brakes, plus a little money for tune up parts and change the oil, I see no reason you couldn't be driving after a good set of used tires are installed. The rust can be repaired by an expert, or a good back yard body man. Drive it while your fixing this stuff! Its really the best priced bus on ebay!
