Vehicle Detail

*Perhaps the third time really will be the charm? This is the third time I have relisted the car. The first buyer couldn't get shipping arranged and the second one wouldn't respond to me after winning. I've sold a few cars on eBay and never once had a problem, so hopefully things will go better this time around. Please be sure you are ready to pay for and ship the car before bidding. I don't want to be one of those rude buyers, but I can see why some people act irritated. This time around I set a BIN price right in the middle of where it got bid up to the last two times. Otherwise the auction is the same. Thanks and good luck! My father purchased this car from an older woman he knows. It had been parked since 1993 and she was ready to get rid of it. We trailered it home and were able to get it running easily. The fuel had been drained before being parked so some new fuel, a battery, and fresh oil was all it needed to run. We covered the whole process on BarnFinds.com and links to the articles can be found below. It blows some black smoke on startup, but it might still be burning the Marvel Mystery oil we put into the cylinders. As with any old car that has been parked for a long period of time, it would be wise to rebuild the carb and replace the consumables (plugs, wires, hoses, tires, etc.). The brakes work, but need gone through too before it can be driven much. Plan on replacing the master cylinder and hoses. The exterior has a few dents and scratches acquired over the years, but we couldn't find any rot. The paint was dry, but looks decent now after a quick polish. The chrome looks good too and an extra set of rear side trim is included to replace the dented pieces. The interior is dusty, but in excellent condition. The dash has a couple of cracks and a few seams have separated, but everything is original and should look like new after a deep cleaning. The front seats had covers and the rear still has a factory plastic cover in place. The radio works and the power antenna goes up and down. The power seat works and the steering wheel tilts and telescopes. Special lights come on the sides when you turn the blinkers on so you can see better when turning at night. The cruise control is disconnected under the hood so we dont know if it works. The air conditioning kicks on when it gets really hot outside, but not like it should so I assume that the vacuum lines will need gone through and perhaps a sensor cleaned or replaced? At least it does turn on though so there is some hope. The windows on the driver's side go up and down with ease and the passenger's side works intermittently. The transmission shifts smoothly and seems to be functioning as it should. We have had this car up to 55 mph with no problem. It was quite and comfortable inside. The trunk is full of spare parts and extra wheels. Buying a car online can be difficult, so I have tried to mention all the flaws. That doesn't mean this is a bad car though. I think that with a little work and money, the next owner could have a reliable and comfortable cruiser. We have set the reserve at a reasonable amount. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. An extensive photo gallery can be viewed here on Google Drive. Wire transfer is preferred. Also, the car will need to be picked up within a week or it will be put into storage and the buyer will be responsible for the fees. Hopefully that sounds fair to everyone. Thanks.
