Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE I am offering a rare Avanti – R2/4-speed – (one of 643 built). The car is titled in my name and currently registered in California with Legacy Plates R2 4SPD. The hog troughs and frame are rust free, but the car needs to be painted and to have the front bumper rechromed. It also needs to have the cracked windshield replaced. The fuel gauge does not work, the clock works sporadically, and there is no radio. There is a minor oil leak at the back of the engine. The odometer reads 37,552 but I don’t know if this is the actual mileage. Before installing the custom air dam, the car ran hot because of inadequate airflow through the radiator. The air dam corrected that, and the twin fans take care of the heat when the car is standing still. The power brakes feel like they may be over-boosted, but they work fine. Since acquiring the car late in January of this year I have replaced the following parts: New rear brake cylinders New rear brake shoes New rear brake hose New rear brake hardware New power brake booster New dual chamber master cylinder New vented front disc brake rotors New front wheel bearings New single-piston calipers New disc brake pads New front brake hoses New aluminum radiator New dual 10” puller fans New adjustable fan thermostat New expanded stainless radiator guard New power steering hoses New R2 fuel pump Rebuilt Paxton SN92 supercharger New drive and idler pulleys New drive belts New Edelbrock carburetor with Carter AFB top and marine accelerator pump New ductwork from supercharger to carburetor New boost line to fuel pump New rigid and flexible engine fuel lines New fuel filter New Avanti water pump New rubber fuel tank lines New stainless steel oil pressure flexible line New upper and lower radiator hoses Rebuilt Delco window distributor New points New condenser New spark plugs New oil cooler hoses New engine ground cable New battery New battery cables Rebuilt Delco starter New two-speed heater motor New heater squirrel-cage blower Rebuilt windshield washer system Four new 235-60R15 tires New wheel spinners New carpet New thermometer radiator cap New air horns New dash radio speaker Restored radio speaker grille 2002 tan Camaro leather front seats installed New custom built air dam This car is a long-term fun project for me, so the price indicates that I do not need to sell it. If you want a fairly rare Avanti, you can buy mine (63R4002) for $13500 or best offer; as is, where is.
