Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a beautiful 1978 Mercury Grand Marguis survivor. This is a 1 owner North Carolina barn find, except it was in a carport, not a barn. It is an unmolested, 1 owner and all original vehicle except for the paint on the driver's side due to a minor bump-up. The original owner had the whole side painted from the chrome strip down. There are a few small cracks in the paint on the drivers door. I took a picture of the worse ones but you can't see them from about 6 to 8 feet away. There are some scratches around the right front fender that I touched up and you can't tell they are there from about 6-8 ft. away. They were caused by a dog after a cat that ran under the car. Everything else on the car is original except for the tires and battery and I had a new vinyl top installed. Everything on the car works as it should, even the clock. The car had been sitting for about 7 yrs. and I put gas in the tank and a battery and primed the carb. and it started up and I drove it home after letting it warm up. Since buying the car I have replaced the vinyl top, plugs & wires, engine drive belts, changed the oil & filter, changed trans. fluid & filter and had the carb. rebuilt. I don't know of anything this car needs. It runs and drives great. You can drive this vehicle anywhere. This is not a show car but with very little effort and money it could be, or you can cruise it like it is. The car comes with the factory fender skirts, but I prefer the non skirted look. I have known the original owner most of my life and he was a mechanic by profession and believed in preventative maintenance, so you know if anything was wrong with the car, it was repaired. I have not found anything on the car that doesn't work as it should. There is a minimal amount of surface rust on the undercarriage for a car sitting for this amount of time. The chassis and floor pans and trunk are solid. The mileage will be a little more than stated because I am going to enjoy this ride until it sells. It shouldn't be over about 500 more. Thanks for looking and check my feedback and bid with 100% confidence. I require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit through Pay-pal at the close of the auction and pick-up with the balance in cash or certified check or through Pay-pal within 7 days of auction closing. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping arrangements. I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime, as this vehicle is offered for sale locally. If you have any questions, just message me and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.
