NO RESERVE!!! It is time for me to sell my beloved 2000 Excursion. I am the second owner and searched for six months to find one like it. Diesels came standard with leather interior and cloth had to be special ordered. If you are a fan of cloth you know how hard it is to find a diesel with cloth! The original owner special ordered this one fully loaded but with cloth and no body cladding. Now, on to the vehicle. Yes, it is high mile, however if you know the 7.3, there are a number of them that have now exceeded a million miles. This is one of the best diesels ever built. I purchased it at 295k from the original owner who was an elderly man who towed a small camper with it all over the country. When I purchased it about 3 years ago the rear seat still had the factory plastic on the seat belts! It has been my kid hauler ever since and we have logged on a few more miles. Kids are now driving on their own, so we don't need something quite this big anymore. The interior of this truck could use a good cleaning but is otherwise in very nice shape with only one small tear in the bolster of the drivers seat. The engine runs excellent and is equipped with a Banks Stinger system. This is a $2,800 system that adds about 79 extra horsepower. The batteries and starter are newer and it will start even on a -20 degree day without plugging it in! The transmission shifts nicely and is equipped with a Banks controller since new, which helps to "save" the transmission by upping the shift pressure points. The brakes have less than 10,000 miles on them and one wheel bearing is new. The tires have about 15,000 miles on them and are like new, they are BF Goodrich Rugged Terrains. The front axle needs work. If you know about Excursions, the Achilles heel was the junk Dana 50 front axle. This one is due for a complete rebuild and needs balljoints and outer stubs. I removed the front axle shafts because of vibration. They are included with the truck. Personally I would replace the axle with a 2003-04 F350 Dana 60. They are a direct bolt in and get rid of some of the Dana 50 issues. If the truck doesn't sell that is my plan. So it currently is 2wd but can be easily fixed. It can be driven now as is, but the front axle will need attention within the next few thousand miles. Also, the fuel filler neck has a small rust hole that leaks while filling. I have a new filler neck in the box in the back that is included with the sale. The body of the truck has been hit hard by the last few Michigan winters and is rusting as you can see in the pics. The worse is in the quarters and drivers door. A set of Bushwacker flares would probably cover most of this if you didn't care. Also I blew a tire approx 15,000 miles ago that busted up the fender and bumper. I never got around to fixing it. The roof is peeling and it is starting the common Super Duty windshield leak. Truck is sold as is where is in Marine City Michigan and has a clear title in my name. If you wish to fly in and drive it home I can pick you up a Detroit Metro Airport.
