Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a custom built 1968 VW Woody Wagon. I recently acquired this vehicle in a trade and I know very little about it. I am admittedly not a VW guy, so bear with me. From what I understand there was a set of plans offered by Popular Mechanics that would allow you to turn your VW into a woody wagon that resembles a 1940 Ford. This conversion appears to have been done sometime in the 1980's. The car has been in storage for several years prior to my ownership. It does however, run, drive, and stop well enough to cruise around town. I have not had it out on the highway or attempted to take any longer trips in it. It does have a new tune up with fresh wires, plugs, cap, rotor, condenser. It also has new 15'" tires and a new muffler. The front hood and fenders are fiberglass and in good condition. The driver fender does have a crack. There is some rust in the floors, but I did not see anything major. The wood is weathered some, but is still presentable. The paint is amateur quality. This is a great UNIQUE restoration project vehicle or just tinker with it and drive it as is. It is a very fun car, and gets an insane amount of attention! This would make a killer beach cruiser or surf wagon to putt around town in. There have been a few of these woody conversions on eBay that have sold for over $10k, with a bit of work, this car has great investment potential. I am selling this car with NO RESERVE. I would not however plan on driving this car home to California or any long trips until it has been gone over!
