2001 Suzuki JR 80 RE-LISTED due to non-responsive buyer! Up for auction is one, 2001 Suzuki JR 80. I purchased this bike last year as a project bike. After a few months working on the bike, I have decided to cut my loses and offer the bike as a mechanic's special. Please take the time to read the bike's entire description as there is a lot of information listed. Also, please be sure to view all 24 photographs as they are intended to be part of the bike's description. The bike currently does not run. To be as specific as possible, the bike is not seized, it turns over with no problem. The bike usually will start with a series of kicks (three or four). Once started, the bike does not idle as it requires constant throttle play to keep it running. The bike appears to run better with the choke on. In regards to isolating the problem, this is what I have done: Conducted a compression test. Reading was about 125psi.Replaced cylinder gaskets.Purchased and installed new OEM Suzuki reed.Cleaned carburetor multiple times including all jets. Installed new gasket and washers. Adjusted the float.Installed new fuel lines.Checked oil pump/injector system. It is in working condition.Disconnected oil pump and ran 32:1 pre-mixed. Seemed to run better but still not idling. This is the work that I have done to the bike: Cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned the bike.Rebuilt front forks with new seals and new oil.Cleaned carburetorPowder-coated handlebarsPowder coated rear brake armPowder coated flywheel/stator coverPowder coated shifterPowder coated SidestandBrand new oilElectrical wires tested and cleanedNew NGK spark plugTorqued bolts to Suzuki's specs using the OEM service manual. I purchased and installed new parts for the bike including: Clutch cableThrottle CableDID ChainJT Front SprocketJT Rear SprocketEBC Rear Brake pads Work that still needs to be performed: Get the bike running!Mount kill switch (currently on the bike and works, just needs to be mounted to handlebar)Front brake perch and lever. Cable is already mounted.Install footpegs. (I have the mounts, pegs, and hardware. They are currently stripped and will need to be painted before installing)Grips. Possible new throttle tube if you choose to do so. Outside of the bike not running well, I would consider this bike to be in good, used condition. The plastics have multiple scratches and show cracks here and there. The most significant area is the rear fender that has been "sewn" together using zip ties by the previous owner.
