Ride it home.Perfect for a light cafe conversion
This Bike is in excellent condition. It is a joy to ride and its gets looks and comments everywhere I take it.
There is a lot of history to this bike. The previous owner had it maintained well, and rode it often. I have some of his documents of maintenance. The engine was rebuilt in 2006, bored over .40 and a mild cam was added. There is about 1500-2000 miles on the engine since the rebuild. Carbs were also rebuilt in 2006 but the bike wasn't ridden much until 2012. My dad bought the bike from a family friend who had purchased it from the original owner. From there, my dad did not have time to work on the bike, so he gave it to my uncle who gave it a major facelift, whom gave it to me last year.
In the last year the bike has received some maintenance and upgrades as follows.
- New battery
- Mounted and balanced new front tire
- New dynatek electronic ignition
- New dynatek coils
- Carbs cleaned / jetted for exhaust- New Carb boots
- New header
- New muffler - baffle removed
- New updated turn signals (I have originals)
- Oil and filter Change
- Professional paint and clear coat on tank, side covers, and rear fairing
- New seat cover and foam
- Highway foot pegs (period addition)
- New O-ring chain
- New NOS front fender
- New NOS chain guard
- Chrome around seat replaced
- Rear brake master cylinder rebuilt
- Used odometer was added b/c original had a crack in the faceplate
- I tried finding one with close to same mileage- More unlisted
Also included is a gasket kit, oil filter, miscellaneous seals and a full set of brake disks. I was going to have them turned by a local shop, but never got around to doing so.
Every aspect of the late 70's was taken into consideration when working on and maintaining this bike. The electrical ignition was obviously not available in the 70's but it makes it mush less of a headache to work on and it runs better without points. The paint was updated with a color that is obviously aftermarket, but subtle. The odometer reads 32,000 miles but the bike actually has 36,000 miles on it.
The electrical system on this bike is solid. The battery never needs a tender. It hold is charge very well. The horn, turn signals, headlight, taillight, and running lights all work.
The bad: Low beam in headlight stopped working a couple weeks ago. The rear brake light switch for the foot lever does not trigger the brake light. Only the hand lever on handlebars triggers the brake light. Right fork seal needs replaced.
This is everything I know about the bike. I am selling because I am getting married and need money for the upcoming wedding. There is over $4,000 in this bike. My loss is your gain. Happy Bidding!
