This car is stunning. I have had people walk right past a Lamborghini to come look at it. People at the red light roll down their windows to ask what year it is. My neighbors want me to take them for a ride in it. Of course, once I stop at a gas station, then the crowd gathers. This 1956 190SL is set up as an everyday driver. The paint is a metallic red which appears to have gold in it when the sun hits it. It has ice-cold air conditioning, a soft top, and Mercedes wire wheels - very unusual to see these days. People just love the combination. It has more power than a stock Mercedes 190SL because it has been upgraded with a more modern, dependable 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed transmission. You can always convert it back to an original drivetrain -this car is priced well below the market in order to allow you the financial room to do just that - but the previous owner went to great expense to create the perfect daily driver. Why would YOU start from scratch with a rust bucket? The hard work is already done here. Now it has that classic look with a modern, powerful drivetrain. The seats are a soft, comfortable fabric that doesn't burn you in the summer nor freeze you in the winter. The exhaust has a very sporty, European hum as you go on your way. Cars come by with their windows down just to hear it. This car is truly an effortless pleasure to drive. As you may know, the Mercedes 190SL's are appreciating rapidly. The 1955 and 1956 190SL's are the most desirable. Why not drive a car to work that is actually MAKING you money rather than depreciating as every mile goes by. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction AT ANY TIME. If you hit that "Buy It Now" button, I will include a Hard Top with the car. This top will need repainting but will make a great addition to this car. The mileage is in Kilometers and is most likely NOT accurate due to the age of the vehicle. The firewall was modified in the center to accommodate the newer engine - a flat sheet metal patch should return that to normal should you choose. I currently have access to an original Mercedes M121 engine (not a part of this auction) if you are interested.
