Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE California car 36,626 miles clear, clean title brilliant silver metallic black leather interior bi-xenon headlights silver gauges same owner / only driver for last 10 years stock all service records scheduled service completed 9/2015 ice cold AC with new condensers last year smogged and registered until 11/2016 floor mats steel GT3 brakes all books CUP chin splitter stock wheels with near new Hancook Ventus V12 Evo tires stock and RS carbon fiber wing carbon wing end plates in carbon fiber or aluminum original window sticker Stock, untouched, unraced California 2004 GT3 – no modifications list here since I believe that the Porsche factory engineers are die hard enthusiasts who know what they are doing. I purchased the car 10 years ago from the original owner who sold it after only 9 months. I have both the stock GT3 and the GT3 RS carbon fiber wings because I didn’t care for the stock GT3 wing look – the RS wing improves freeway stability (the GT3 RS wing comes with interchangeable carbon fiber or aluminum end plates, as well as factory adjuster shims (4 & 8 degrees of tilt). To balance the extra down force on the rear of the car from the GT3 RS wing it has the stock Porsche Motorsport CUP car front chin splitter. There are no mechanical modifications to anything on the car – all stock. This GT3 has never been raced, no accidents – I only attended a single Porsche club sanctioned parking lot driver’s school but came away unimpressed and never attended any sort of ‘event’ ever again. I’ve been driving Porsche’s for 30+ years – this GT3 is by far the best and most entertaining. It is the model with the most adjustable suspension (997 GT3’s had fewer stabilizer adjustments). It is also the ‘rawest’ GT3 - aside from ABS there are no electronic nannies on this model. I love the ‘fly-by wire’ throttle – great feel, great response - vastly improved uptake from idle makes it nearly impossible to stall the engine on take-off. The car admittedly is set up non-aggressively for maximum tire wear rather than maximum performance – that said it still handles like a race car – just not mongo negative camber crazy. Tires are near new Hancook Ventus V12 Evo – again for maximum wear - when warm they perform just fine. Gumball Pilot Sports are expensive and wear out quickly. Super sticky performance Pilot Cup tires wear out even faster. None of the aggressive tire performance can be realized when doing freeway driving – so what’s the point. I replaced the tiny ‘motor cycle’ weight saving battery with a slightly larger/heavier unit because the small battery only lasts about 2 years. The GT3’s ‘face’ is improved by the optional bi-xenon headlights which have an oval shape over the earlier 996 “runny egg” headlights with the yellow turn signals – this model came with the factory upgraded grey turn signal lenses front and rear. This car has the 380 hp, 3.6 liter Metzger engine – with none of the ‘production’ 996/997 engine problems like rear main seal leaks or the self-destructing auxiliary shaft bearing issue. This car has the cup car motor, which has the turbo bottom end, however with titanium rods, light weight pistons and the variable cam normally aspirated top end. The gear box has a limited slip differential. This car is flawless and has been meticulously maintained all of its life. Service was performed by the Porsche dealer and all service parts are genuine Porsche, while I did the no brainer service like oil changes, filters, fluid flush, spark plugs and brake pads/rotors. It has never been ‘detailed’ by others who tend to use polishing machines and nasty paint abrasives – it has only had the occasional hand waxing. Never any sticky, smelly, shiny spray juices. Why am I selling? – recently retired – ordered an RV – won’t be using the GT3 nearly enough, if at all over long periods – it does it no good to sit unattended and un-used. Summary: great car for two types of owners – the stock enthusiast who is looking for an untouched car or the racer who wants to do personal modifications rather than taking someone else’s choices and paying extra to change them. The car needs absolutely nothing – it is serviced and ready to go until the next service in 20,000 miles. It comes with both remote keys, a valet key, all books, original window sticker, both wings and great tires. On Sep-19-15 at 07:02:44 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE PRICE LOWERED - let the fun beginOn Sep-20-15 at 11:13:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve Price adjustment #2: I've lowered my reserve price yet again by another 15% - you come up 10% --- and things will get interesting. Just think of it --- for less than the price of a Boxter you're bidding on a 'can't distinguish from new' genuine Porsche GT3 super car that is capable of approaching 200 mph. Also consider the included RS carbon fiber wing and the 'unobtainium' Porsche Motorsport available only chin splitter. It's quite the package and killer deal over a potentially modified or race track beaten alternative. thanks for everyone's interest and all your questions and comments.
