Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1966 Volkswagen thirteen-window Deluxe Bus. This bus runs and drives excellent with no surprises. This bus has a brand new rebuilt 1600 Dual Point motor, 12-volt, new clutch, all tin restored and painted. The transmission works good. The brakes have all been restored; new shoes, drums turned, new cylinders, new master cylinder. About two years ago, we completely restored this bus from top to bottom. The body was completely stripped. The body work is complete and it has been blocked and polished four times, using PPG Concept urethane paint. The maroon color is paint code 555 and matching white is code 472. The body was completely painted inside and out with the proper two-tone jam painting. This bus had the original paint on it when we started. The bus has never been hit in the nose and is rust free, no rust in any of the floorboards. We only replaced the outer rocker panel under the side doors. The inner panels were all very nice. After it was painted the bus was color sanded and buffed of all imperfections then all the trim was installed. This Deluxe bus has brand new 165x15 tires and 15-inch bus two-tone wheels. All the side windows are the original Sekurt bus windows with all new rubber around all the glass. The windshields are new with new rubber. The Deluxe moldings are original, and have all been repaired and polished. It has all the bumper Deco strips and moldings. It also has an original restored bus roof rack, with new clamps that were painted silver. Inside we have the matching upholstery kit from Wolfsburg West in the gold tweed style. It also has a new headliner that was professionally installed. All the lights work as they should, the gas gauge is new, but works intermittently. The radio and clock are not hooked up. It has the rear seat only. The Bus has a new Volkswagen 12-volt battery, and all the original wiring which is still in excellent condition. It also comes with the original spare tire and 15-inch wheel painted two tone with the original jack and tool pouch, the original owner’s manual, ash tray, and dealer brochure for buses. (refer to picture) Since its restoration about 2 years ago, this bus has been driven less than 100 miles. We have restored Volkswagens for forty years and this is just another prime example. There are no reproduction parts on the bus except rubber and upholstery. This old VW bus is in pristine condition and is an excellent show car! These buses are still holding their value, and make great investments, so have fun bidding. Thanks for looking and please call Jack for more information (208) 888-1240 (USA, Mountain Time).
