Vehicle Detail
If you're looking for a pre 1967 German built split window Volkswagen Bus that is ready to get in and drive and enjoy, then you know how difficult and expensive it is to find one. Restored 13 window Deluxe buses sell for $50k plus. Rusty hulks sell for over $10k. Well, this is neither. What this Bus is.... a very original, unmodified, fairly rust free daily driver 1967 Deluxe 13 window Bus. Here are the details... BODY: This Bus has had only 1 repaint since new. This Bus has NEVER been subjected to bondo repairs, had any body repair, or welding. This Bus has all original body panels. For all you original paint enthusiasts, this repaint can easily be taken back to the original paint with a bit of elbow grease and oven cleaner if desired. The nice original paint can be seen on the passenger door where the owner painted over a decal and also in the engine compartment and under the decklid. This bus has very very little rust. Just a few small holes in the front floors and right at the cargo door opening along with a several small holes elsewhere in the cargo floor. There are just few pinholes popping out along the Deluxe trim on the drivers side rocker panel. This is one of the most rust free Buses I've ever had. The nose is perfect and has never been hit. It has NO rust or bondo. The roof is in excellent condition with no dents and the drip rails are in excellent condition with no rust. The front beam is rust free. The previous owner had a couple of minor parking booboos on his farm and put 2 dents in the otherwise perfect metal. One is on the passenger rear quarter that was popped out and one was on the drivers side rear side wheel well with a small crunch. The underside looks great. No rust in the frame or outriggers. Check out the detailed photos in the picture link. MECHANICAL CONDITION: This bus is turn key. Just put in some gas and she is ready to go. The low mile rebuilt engine starts with 1 bump of the key and it runs nice and quiet. It's a stock motor with plenty of power. The Bus shifts well and brakes perfect. The lights, signals, and windshield wipers work. This bus has the original 14 inch wheels. INTERIOR: This Bus is a walk thru and has the original front seats and rear seat. There is no middle seat although a later model bay window middle seat could easily be substituted.. The original cargo mat is in great condition. The dash is very nice and hasn't been modified or cut. This original instruments and clock are still in the dash. Not shown in the pictures is an additional popout window and side door handle. Here is a link to lots of pics of the Bus top and bottom and 3 videos including it running and driving... http://smu.gs/1CtdKcN This bus is currently registered till June of next year. Both Georgia and Alabama use a current registration to transfer ownership on a vehicle of this age. States that require titles for this year car will accept this paperwork. This current registration is also good for customs and export around the world. This bus is registered as a 1966, the year is was made. It is an actual 1967 Volkswagen model car. Yes, this auction is available to all interested bidders worldwide. This is a great opportunity to buy a very solid split window VW Bus that you can get in and enjoy right away.
