1951 Chevy Deluxe Tin Woody Wagon We are proud to offer this 1951 Chevy Deluxe Tin Woody wagon for auction to the Ebay community of Classic auto enthusiasts at a very reasonable reserve as well as a Buy-it-now price that is far less than what we have in it. More than $35k has been spent on restoration work alone. It is from our private collection of Rare Classic cars which we are down-sizing to a more manageble level in plans for my retirement. First let me just say that I will tell you all I know about the car " good , bad as well as the ugly" Secondly, a little history about the Tin Woody wagon which GM started producing mid-year of the 1949 model year. Ford & Chrysler were both still producing wagons with wood trim side panels. To see an early 50s wagon now a days is a very rare sight. One this nice is even much more rare to see driven on the streets of Denver as it has been for the past 2 years. This car starts. runs and drives well. It has received a full body on chassis restoration, new high gloss paint that looks great, new vinyl interior, carpet, original factory wood was refinished to look as good as new, all chrome was refinished & looks great. The exterior wood trim(metal ) was refinished by an expert in restoration of 1950s tin woody wagons. He did an excellent job. I think it looks better than it did when the car was new. Also, it is running on a new set of Coker wide white-wall tires. There are a few things that I would fix like the speedo cable(its noisey) and the speedometer does not work. Drivers door glass has a couple of cracks in it. I will be in touch with my glass guy to see if he can cut a new piece of auto safety flat glass & install it in the door.
