1968 Chevy Camaro Z/28 with rare Cowl Plenum Air Cleaner. This 1968 Chevy Camaro Z/28 is a California car with a nice clean body with no rust issues. I do not have Documentation confirming its originality, but I can tell you what it does have and it points to it being correct. This car has the original '68 Four Piston front disc brakes with the Original Two Piece front rotors, ( not reproductions, orig.GM two piece rotors ) The correct proportioning valve that looks like its has never been touched or replaced. It also has a new cadium plated brake booster. The engine is not the correct MO 302 but has a replacement 1969 DZ302 shortblock that has been decked. Casting is 3970010. Not sure about short block, just what was told to me. The longblock is all correct Z28 components with the double hump / camel heads with a GM Aluminium intake part # 3917610 with the winters snow flake on it. Oil fill tube with S cap and correct thermostat housing. The correct GM chrome valve covers with the "O" stamped on each. All pulleys are correct Deep Groove , and the Correct Z28 only alternator brackets and a 780cfm GM Holley carb, # 3923289-DZ List 4053. It has correct GM stamped hoses, the right spring ring and tower hose clamps and GM Stamped heater hoses, and a correct gm fan shroud and five blade clutch fan. Other items to note are multi-leaf rear springs and a 12 bolt rearend. A Muncie 4-speed transmission with the speedometer cable coming out behind the distributor. The floor pans and rocker panels are very clean with no rust or damage and look great, as does all of the undercarriage. This car has manual steering and front and rear spoiler equipment. There is a tire pressure decal in the glove box for E70x15 tires and it also looks very old. The interior is Black standard and is in very good condition with no rips or tears. Clean door panels, new headliner and carpet. The dash has the Tic Toc Tachometer with a 6k redline and the clock in the center, both are in working order. Console with the gauge package. The windshield area is very clean and dash pad is also in good condition. Overall the interior is in very nice and not in need of repair. This car has a paint code of 0 - 2 which is listed as Corvette Bronze which wasn't available until January of '68 and a Black vinyl top and this car was assembled in the LOS California assembly plant Everything is in working order and ready to enjoy, including the windshield wipers, lights and gauges. Original AM radio is not working, but even the door buzzer works. Car runs very strong pulls hard to the 6000 rpm redline and burns the tires easily. It has 60 lbs of oil pressure when started and runs cool. No funny engine or drivetrain noises either. Overall this car shows very well and I believe it to be a real Z/28 but have no documentation,and this is the Only reason this car is priced under $50,000. The engine compartment looks all stock original except for the old headers which I think are always acceptable on a Z/28. This car always gathers a crowd because of its unique one year only color and the rarity of a cowl plenum air cleaner which most people have never seen. Only 7199 Z/28's built in the 1968 model year making it a great collectable. Need to pay for car, wire transfer if needed when bought. I can hold car for as long as needed for pickup or shipping.
