1953 Chevrolet Standard Cab 3600-3/4 Ton Pickup Truck*Good Amateur Restoration done in the 80's * Dependable and Fun! This sharp little truck has belonged to the same family since 1982. A father and son project they started with a 99% rust free 3/4 ton body. The father recently passed away and they have decided to pass it along for someone else to enjoy. ALL steel, EXTREMELY straight. It starts, runs drives and brakes great! This is not a show truck by any means...but it is a wonderful driver and cruise night pickup. Specifications: Engine: Original 216 6 cylinder. runs and sounds great Transmission: Original 4 speed Saginaw. Shifts smooth, good clutch. No issues Body/Sheet-metal Pay close attention here! Very straight, very rust free, very solid. I am amazed at just how good the body is! The Chassis was shortened 6" to accommodate a 1/2 ton standard cab bed. This was done well, looks great! Frankly most peopledon't know that short-beds were not a factory option in 1953. Miscellaneous: Fully converted to 12 volt for dependability! Interior is fully restored with new seat covers, door panels, floor mat, headliner etc. Gauges have been refaced but are not hooked up, (although they light up). Below dash gauges have been installed and work fine. Marine grade plywood was used in the bed and looks good. Original bed strips re-installed. Aftermarket wheels are installed now, but original style rims, (see pix) are available if buyer wants them. All glass is really good except passenger side vent wing windows has bubbling. Tires are older, and will work fine for short trips . I would replace them for higher speed highway driving. With new tires I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere! During the restoration the engine was upgraded from the standard 216 6cyl. to the 235 6cyl. with the pressurized oil system. Much better engine and a popular upgrade.
