Protect-O-Plate, totally disassembled, media blasted and primed with zinc chromateprimer. PPG two part primer an PPG Concepts single stage Black Urethane paint. The body was fully disassembled and painted in pieces, then reassembled and wheeled. The Rear of The Caris tastefully mini-tubbed with 14" between the steel so to the untrained eye it appears stock, even inside the trunk. The rear frame rails are moved inboard,fully boxed and hand built from 12 gauge steel. The boxed full frame runs all the way to the sub-frame mounts at the firewall and is tied to the seat frame supports. The rear axle is a new DTS 12 bolt with Richmond 4:11 gear. Torsion center section, 33 spline Mosher axles with large Ford style bearings that are drilled for Chevy,Ford and Mopar wheels. Powder coated Mosher differential cover. Rear brakes are stock 12" C6 Corvette brakes. Finishing out with a 4 link set-up, rear sway bar, large pan hard rod and QA1 12 way adjustable aluminum coil over shocks. Rear is built to handle in excess of 700 HP. The Front of the carhas a TCI Mustang II Chassis shimmed square to the body with 6-way adjustable coil over shocks, fast ratio T-Bird power rack and pinion steering, 13" C6 Corvette brakes, stock rebuilt collapsible steering column, and anti-vibration collapsible Borgenson steering shaft. The Engineis an internally balanced 406 CI small block Chevy with electronic fuel injection that easily makes in excess of 500 HP and 500 ft/lbs. of Torque. The block is one of the few stock parts and is a 400CI 12 bolt block, ( which is stronger and 15 pounds heavier than a 400, 4 bolt block). Torque plate bored + .030 and diamond plateau honed, main bolts tapped for more thread engagement and studded, line bored and decked. Wisco 11 to 1light weight forged pistons, light weight tapered pins,barrel shaped molly rings, 6" polished and shot peened Scat rods, lightweight 4340 crank ground to .001 under to straight it, Z28 oil pump, windage tray, 7 quart Milodon pan and pickup, Brodix Track One 23 degree CNC cylinder heads portered to the larger 1206 Felpro intake gaskets and flow 290 CFM at .005 lift-capable of making 600+ HP. Ferrea severe duty +.1.00 2.08-1.60 valves and 2.25" long manganese bronze valve guides, LS1 valve seals, Crane Solid Street Rocker Cam Sr-244/362-S2-12IG. Crane solid lifters, Dual 1.55" springs and retainers Custom length push rods, Ported Edlebrock Victor E intake, 1000 CFM Edlebrock throttle body, 40# Bosch injectors, stainless steel fuel rails, 60 PSI return style fuel system with 10 micro in line filter. Steel braided fuel lines, Edlebrock 3500 fuel injection computer, SFI approved balancer, Cloyes true roller chain set-up, top quality Felpro gaskets and seals, ARP head bolts, main bolts, oil pan studs and rocker studs. Comp 1.6 intake and 1.52 exhaust rollers, Comp stud girdle. The Transmission and Driveshaftwere designed to handle in excess of 700 HP. Transmission is a 4L80E built by Joel's on Joy in South Lyon, Michigan. It has as follows. 2.48 1st, 1.48 2nd,1.00 3rd and a .075 4th gear ratios. The front and rear gear assemblies are shimmed to .005 end play and the oiling system was modified for better lubrication, heavy duty clutches, heavy duty bands and new shift solenoids. A high dollar Coan 3000 rpm stall converter with lock up, an elecronic sgift controller and a B&M Quicksilver shifter. The driveshaft is a custom steel 3 1/2 in diameter with solid 1350 series U-joint with a front drive shaft safety loopwelded between the seat mounting supports. This stiffens the floor of the car and protects the driver. The Exhaust Systemis a handmade full 3" dual mandrill bent with x-pipe design with 4 mufflers. Best of both worlds here. Notable head turning sound when you put your foot in it...but you can take it on a road trip and not go nuts from the noise. It begins with S & S 1 3/4" ceramic coated headers that have 3" collectors, followed by a Dr Gas 3" X-pipe into a pair of 3? DynoMax UltraFlow mufflers. Continuing over the axle a pair of 3? DynoMax RaceBullets which act as resonators. There is also a set of 3" header flanges at the front of the rear axle either the front half of the exhaust system or the tail pipes can easily be removed for service. The Interioris stock Super Sport Black with White Stripes. Stock Chevelle headrest were added which really fit perfect. Seats and tracks were stripped to bare metal, media blasted, primed and painted. All new foam inner material was installed before the new PUI Covers. All new SS side panels, emblems, headliner, handles and remanufactured seat belt assemblies were used. Space age foam sound deadening material was used in the floor, firewall and roof to keep heat and noise out. New carpet, Autometer Sport Competition Custom Gauge Set-up, Gen II Camaro SS Steering wheel and 68 Camaro Chromed disk brake pedals were used. Air Conditioning Systemmade by Vintage Air with stock appearing A/C outlets. To make it fit neatly the battery was moved to the trunk. Blows ice cold and the engine still runs cool with the air on. Tires and WheelsAmerican Torque Thrust "M" Racing wheels in chrome. 17x18 fronts with 17x10.5 rear Tires are 235-17-50 in front and 315-17-35 rear and are New "V" rated Radials. Other quality componentsA 105 amp alternator that makes 50 amps at idle, upgraded bright headlights, new steel cowl induction hood, open top air cleaner, large battery, 1 gauge battery cables, high torque big block starter, urethane engine and transmission mounts and bullet proof exhaust system hangers. All new tinted glass, new window fuzzies, all factory stainless steel trim polished, new wheel well molding, new bumpers, tail lights, headlight bezels and grill assembly. Door hinges were rebuilt and new exterior door handles installed. New custom Aluminum radiator, OEM GM 2-speed electric fan, (quiet) and a Haden fan controller. Painless 12 volt circuit wiring harness. Please note: The ONLY blemish I can find is a scratch on the left rear lower quarter were the owner accidentally hit it with is wheel chair.
