Vehicle Detail
(Due to unregistered zero bidder I have to relist ) Hi folks, your bidding on a 1967 mustang. She belongs to an elderly woman who is a family friend. She was built in the San Jose plant in CA. "c" model 289 2 bbl c4 automatic. lets start with what I know it needs so you can get an accurate picture of the restoral needed. first off . I had it inspected by a body shop ( yes they actually drove out to look at it ) the car sometime in its past was involved in some sort of a side swipe left side. repair appears heavy with bondo, For an rotisserie resto the quarter panel should be replaced. 4 years back it tapped a post needs right fender repair, lower balance pan is damaged as well as front bumper and end of hood. it was a light hit no structural damage to core support/ unibody mechanicals. Underside pics included. there is no rust underneath the car, however rust is creeping in at rear window left side. and as you can see in the pics it does have a few "bottom out" bruises which were common on mustangs and Camaros from hitting dips to fast. mechanicals. the vehicle has been sitting for 4 years, missing the caps on the front rims, it was parked because the tranny quit, motor ran very strong. Now here is where the WOW comes in look at the pics of the motor! the reservoir bag is like brand new, the 1967 emission / timing stickers are pristine. there is no way anyone has ever done a paint over on this motor. the factory blue paint on the motor is excellent very little road/oil grime, which for a 289 is suprising. odometer reads 39,000. normally I would say it has rolled over. but when I look at the motor and compartment and underside of car. it makes me scratch my head. Interior surprisingly enough its not to bad, headliner is perfect it did come untucked at back window but is not torn or deteriorated, seats seem good,(frames and foam) has some splits in the front seats does need upper dash pad(its warped). factory radio with bezel is on floor board. unbolted not broken. carpet is so so. The rest seems like normal wear . This old girl is an excellent candidate for a full or partial restoral. in the pictures it shows the gear selector plate missing, I found a brand new one in a plastic bag on floor , also found the "t" handle for the auto shifter with it, ash tray is there too. ( missing in pics) I think I have accurately described what is needed . Keep in mind if you chose to you could fix the transmission, 600 dollars was the quote I got ( I would be willing to get the tranny done for you before pick up for the 600 dollars), clean the gas tank(not included see ps below), and drive this car, the panel in question is patched and painted but would never be acceptable from a full blown restoration point of view. its not all caved in and ugly just a bit wavy behind the scoop. ps I could pull the tank and clean up the carb and make her run as well. figure 500 dollars. for my time , fuel, new battery , and clean the carburetor. so if you chose you could drive it onto the trailer when you arrive. it has been "non oped" as well no back reg fees I priced this car low to make it an affordable resto project , not because its junk , I believe there is a real possibility this car only has 39,000 miles if I could prove it I would triple the price. undercarriage, wheel wells motor compartment factory stickers really have me guessing, but unfortunately I have no proof, and the tranny went out. but wow if you saw it underneath you would understand .and like I said get it running and just drive it if you choose. I think it would be cool either way. there is no reserve, so what you bid is what it will sell for, and figure an extra 1100 dollars more if you want me to have tranny done and make it run. If you have any questions, or want extra pics I will be glad to help you. or shoot me pm with your number and ill call you to answer questions. Pretty sweet deal huh. PS. zero bidders need to call me in advance or be removed Bob 760 524 1599 Happy bidding
