This was to be the shop truck so it was worked off and on from the winter into spring. The Flat head V8 is the correct 8BA engine. I purchased the long block from an older gentlemen that was going to originally throw it into his 40's Merc but decided to stay with his original engine. I freshened up the engine with new gaskets, cleaned it up some. The Heads are clear coated over the rust and the block was painted cast. New Carb, fuel pump, cloth wiring installed from dash to engine, plugs, wires, points, cap, belts, fuel tank was dry but I still (POR) treated it for longevity etc etc and a brand new clutch was installed as well. The wheels were blasted and painted cast as well to match the block. The tires are like new and the tubes are brand new. I have new glass for the sides and rear, only the rear was installed and the front was clean enough so I ran with it. The seat was reupholstered in a heavy Vinyl and we chose a Blood red which really pops in the original cab. There are a bunch or accessories that go with the truck, new Master cylinder, lights front and rear, door anti rattle kit, etc. I never got the engine to completely run. It would sound like it was going to start, pop out the exhaust (basically run) but I am not a full on Mechanic and every ''flat head'' guy never had time to stop by so I pushed her to the side. I do want to mention its still 6 volt and I was limited on trying to get her to fully run with a battery I had to put on the charger after 5/10 minutes are trying to get her to take off. The truck still needs a bunch of things, engine to be finished, driveshaft needs to be hooked up, exhaust you will need manifolds back but I will include the original manifolds. Brakes, new lines should be installed and assume shoes/hardware etc. A lot of people like to use the word Patina so I guess its that...I hate saying that, its an old truck that is cool and the paint should be left the way it is. I took on a more suitable shop truck that I can more daily drive and I also have a road trip coming up which is hinting me to give this girl a shot at a new home. Regardless of the rust....This truck is very solid. The floors are exceptional, the frame as well. You do not have to do any body related repairs unless you want to.
