1986 Honda 450 Rebel This bike was purchased with 1500 miles on the clock. It now sits with 54,000 miles and runs as good today as when we got it. I bought it for my wife when she presented me with a motorcycle endorsement on her driver’s license. She took a riding class and got the endorsement as a surprise so we could ride together, and ride we did. It has always been adult ridden with utmost care and never been abused. She lovingly customized it with an array of air brushed and hand painted art and etchings, only allowing me near it when it was maintenance time. I made that call and it came often. The fluids and engine mechanics were all done at about twice the frequency that Honda called for. I only used synthetic oils and greases throughout. Valve adjustments, tires, chain and sprockets were all replaced well before they came due. Now, do to health issues, it is time to let the 450 flower go. The bike is one of the somewhat limited import 450’s here in the U.S (250’s are abundant). 450’s are still quite popular in Europe and most parts can still be obtained right here on e-Bay if not found through Honda. As with many bike from the 80’s, it is a bit cold blooded and likes to be warmed up a while before taking off. Once it gets going, it happily purrs along. I have extras that will go along with the bike. Saddle bags, a new chain, backrest, highway bars and pegs, both a maintenance manual and factory manual, title, and extra mirrors. The tires and battery are both new. Seating position is 27 inches high, great for the average lady rider. I prefer a cash face to face deal and will only release the bike once a bank or certified check has fully cleared. Local pick up only unless the buyer makes all details and pays for shipping in full.
