Vehicle Detail
Here's my story....sad but true. I LOVE my 1997 TL100s. I have owned it since 2000 and have an unmentionable amount of money into it. I was friends with the guy who originally purchased it and bought it from him with a smile on my face. This wonderful red machine lead me to California, where I moved to be in the sunshine and work in the industry. See....I was a motorcycle service advisor at a Suzuki dealership for years in Washington State. So my bike has been VERY well taken care of over the years. After the dealership, I went to a motorcycle/car high performance shop where the red beast got some special attention. Well....as you well know, it rains in Washington. A lot. So I decided to pack the bike up and move to sunny San Diego. The only thing that went wrong...I ended up at a car dealership and out of the motorcycle industry. Which has led to a lack of folks to ride with. I was used to track days and lots of folks to ride with back home and have done neither here. For almost FOUR years. So the bike sits. And sits. And sits. And every once in awhile...I decide to put a new battery in it, ride to work a few times, get almost ran off the road many times and the she goes back to sitting. So NO MORE! Time to move on to a different owner. Someone that will ride it and love it like I did. Some of the basics are the following: 1. Yoshimura full system with carbon oval pipes 2. Toby steering stabilizer 3. Any and all parts I could find in Carbon Fiber......front fender, rear hugger, heel guards, etc. 4. Yoshimura Teka box tuned by the race team I used to ride with (no Power Commander this means) 5. Yoshimura performance clutch and clutch cover 6. All oil changes with Amsoil 20w50 There's lots more. There are 2 flaws with the bike though. It fell over once in the shop...and cracked the front, right fairing. The mirrors hide the crack, so unless I told you, you may not notice. The second....it's fallen victim to sun. The left side of the bike is faded on the tail section. I bought a full set of fairings for it long ago, but they got damaged in the move from Washington to here, so I can't help out there. I also have a set of race take off tires on it now. They are in good shape, but if you're going to use it commute or ride daily, then you will want to throw a set of tires on it. Here's the catch. I don't need the money, and I won't lie....I need her to go to a good home. It is not, I repeat NOT a bike to learn on. It's a 1000cc twin that's had some work done to it. Also....for those that don't know...the rear suspension is terribly designed from the factory. So to hop on and think you are going to be the next GP king is out of the question. It's also heavy. And tall. I don't say these things to deture....I say them to be honest. If you're a TL person....then you get it.
