Vehicle Detail
Up for bids is a 1984 Chevy El Camino. This is a running driving car as is or you may want it for a project car if youd like to make it nicer. This car has been off the road for about 5 months. The car has what I am told is a 350 engine with the automatic trans. It runs great, no miss or any major leaks but it does seem to have a little bottom end noise in it when its cold, just want you to be aware of it. I haven't driven this car but approximately 8 or 10 miles because of no tags or insurance but it seems to run out good with no heating problems and it shifts good. It starts right up every time and idles good. The car has good brakes and it steers good. The wheels are decent but they have some chrome peeling and some rust on them also. They look ok but not great. Front tires have about 1/4 tread, rears are about 1/2. The interior of this El Camino is decent but its gray and looks real dirty in the pics but its really not to bad. It does need cleaning and maybe dyed but its not all torn up. so it is useable. Carpet is about the same as the seats. The door panels arent perfect but they actually are pretty nice for a 84 model, see them in the pics. The dash pad has some cracks from the sun and just age, its not terrible, maybe ok for a daily driver. There is no radio. This car has power windows that work but it has manual locks, thought that was kind of strange. The tilt column is nice and tight. The headliner is pretty nice. I think most gauges seem to work, not sure how accurate but they seem to move. This car also has the tachometer which works, also has a clock but it doesn't work. The body on this car is pretty solid but it appears to have had some repair in a few spots, doesn't appear to have been very bad but I can tell there was some places that have been worked on. All in all its a pretty solid car. The repair seems to be in front and rear of the rear tires and maybe a small spot on one door, nothing major, Theres NO holes in the bottoms of the doors, just minor as I just mentioned. Inside of the doors have some minor rust where the lip of the outer panel folds over the door itself, again nothing major but just want to be honest about it. There isn't any rust around the wheel wells at all. The drivers side front fender has a small dent near the bottom of it, nothing major, other fender is good, neither have any rust. As I said the only rust is where I mentioned and it seems to be repaired good. The hood has a couple dents but I think they are repairable, not real bad. The paint looks fair except for the top and hood which has the clear coat coming off it which makes it look worse than it really is. Theres some clear peeling in other areas also. Inside the bed is super solid with only a little pitted surface rust just under the rear glass, nothing major, no holes. The floors in this car are great, very solid and theres no rust under the bed either. The frame is solid all the way, no problems there. All glass is good. As I said in the beginning guys this car seems to run out great. Its not perfect but after all it is a 1984 model so don't expect perfection. You could drive this car as is or make it into a top notch car with just a little work. As far as driving this car home that's completely up to you. I see no reason it wouldn't be ok but if youre a long ways off you may want to trailer it just to be safe. This El Camino comes with a clean and clear VA title ready to go. According to the title the miles showing are right but I cannot prove that so basically youre buying it as true miles unknown. If you aren't sure about something please ask questions, assume nothing. My feedback is well over 650 and all positive and I want to keep it that way so ask questions so theres no problems if you come to pick it up. You don't get great feedback like that guys if you lie and cheat people, I tell it like it is. That's about all I can tell you other than I think this will make you a great daily driver or spend a little time and money and fix it up nice. Thanks for reading my novel and good luck should you decide to bid on this 84 El Camino. One other thing I forgot to mention is this car has all the air conditioning intact but it doesn't come on so im assuming it needs charged. This car can stay here while you make shipping arrangements as long as its paid for in full as the auction states.
