Vehicle Detail
1961 Mercedes 300d (Adenauer) Automatic 4-door Hardtop Sedan Authentically restored by Owner/Driver over a 12 year time period. Originally 71,000 miles, the car now has 72,500 miles. History: The car was delivered new in Italy to a Doctor who arranged for overseas delivery to the U.S. where he lived in Brooklyn, New York. He drove the car until the early 1970’s when it was taken off the road for mechanical repairs. However, the work was never completed and the car remained in storage until my purchase from a re-seller in 1998; effectively making me the Second Owner. I began the restoration several years later finishing it in 2012: · Engine Rebuild (Including Distributor, Injection Pump, Injectors, etc.) · Chassis Renovation (Brakes, Suspension, Exhaust, Wheels, etc.) · Paint (Original Color Blau/Grau DBxxx) · Re-Chroming · Leather Upholstery · Wood Dash and Interior Trim · Radio · Electrical Special Features: Power Steering and Power Brakes Pair of OEM Removable Headrests Becker Mexico AM/FM Signal Seeking Radio with Becker Short-Wave Converter Original Hirschman All-Wave Power Antenna Capacitor Discharge Ignition VDO Tachometer Four-Way Emergency Flasher Rear Seat Courtesy Light and Opera Reading Lights I am thoroughly familiar with the Mercedes Classic 300d having previously owned two other 300d cars that I purchased for Parts. I rescued one of those cars to become an occasional daily driver; while the other car became a parts donor. Many problem solving technical articles posted on the original Mercedes 3-0-0 Club Forum were contributed by me. The photos speak for themselves.
