You are bidding on a 1966 Dodge Coronet 500. Car is very original, except for paint, but will need a complete resto. With that being said, it is a very nice driving car as is. Engine is tight and it idles well with no hesitation on full throttle. Transmission shifts as it should, with no slipping at all. It has the 8 3/4" rear-end complete with factory Sure-Grip and 3.23 gear ratio. Original color of the car was Metallic Mauve, which is very unusual. Personally, I would return the car to the original color since their were not many made in Metallic Mauve. The original color is visible in the engine compartment everywhere (see picture). Car came with the factory vinyl top and all 500 trim is still in place. There is some bubbling starting under the vinyl but there is no evidence of leaking into the interior. It was painted Dark Green a few years back by previous owner and paint is starting to flake/chip away. Quarters are in good shape as well as the trunk floor. Rust in picture is surface only. There are a couple of small rust issues on drivers side floor pan. Complete floor pans can be ordered from AMD, and other companies, as well most other sheet metal pieces. This Coronet still has the original radiator and the original carb sitting on top of the original engine. Speedometer works but odometer does not. It reads 33,000 with the assumption that it has rolled over. Console top needs screws to be attached to base. This car had been sitting for a couple of years when I purchased it. All it needed a starter, which I put on, and it fired right up. It's getting harder to find these older cars with the original drive train still intact. Once again, even though it runs and drives, it really needs a complete restoration to do this car justice. You can source 90% of the parts through available vendors. Your purchase comes with several parts removed from a donor vehicle. Parts shown in photo is partial only....many more parts come with your purchase. Notice one of the pics, this car was in the Hot Rod Run of 2011. Car is presently located within 30 miles of where it was purchased new. Car still has it original owner's Certicard intact with matching fender data plate and VIN. I have tried to accurately describe the car, but please, ask questions BEFORE bidding.
