Vehicle Detail
Stunning 1993 Land Cruiser. Two owner with low miles at 169k. I purchased this vehicle from the original owner two years ago and have carefully modified it into a great overland cruiser. I started with the best cruiser I could find and have tastefully added features to make this the ultimate expedition vehicle. Here is what I started with:Clean Title 1 owner 1993 FZJ80 with 158k milesFactory triple locked (Center, Front, Rear)Factory cloth interior in excellent shapeNo body damageFactory alloys in excellent conditionAll factory tool kits, jacks, etc present Using this as a base I have added the following enhancements:Fully mechanical intercooled turbo diesel Isuzu 4BD1T motor (161k miles)TD04HL-19T rebuilt turbo16"x19"x2.5" Isuzu Factory IntercoolerAdjustable WastegateRebuilt and stalled down torque converterFully hydraulic controlled A440 Overdrive Transmission Old Man Emu 2.5" springs (Heavy front/Medium rear)285/75R16 Tires9.5k Winch in custom low profile bumperScion bluetooth CD head unit with hands freeEGT, Transmission Temp and Boost gauge addedI have built several cruisers and am only selling this one to start in on my next cruiser project. I love cruisers and love building them. I always start with the cleanest, nicest trucks I can find and then make subtle, but significant well thought out modifications. The purpose of this build was to build an FJ80 that was capable and had better gas mileage for daily driving with similar to stock power levels. That has been achieved. Mileage is around 20 mpg and performance is on par with the stock 4.5L. The Isuzu diesel I chose because it is a much smoother diesel than the Cummins 4bt and fully mechanical. It also weighs the exact same amount as the stock 4.5L and keeps vehicle handling as expected compared to a 6bt which is substantially heavier. The 4BD1T is highly reliable with a service life of around 400k miles and are fully rebuildable with lined cylinders etc. I have found support (parts and service) for this diesel to be excellent and affordable at local Isuze (small box truck) fleet service locations (this is what convinced me to go with a non-Toyota diesel). I wanted to keep as much of the vehicle as stock as possible so had a custom adapter machined to mate the Isuzu motor to a stock Toyota Land Cruiser overdrive automatic in the factory location. I have also insured that all factory gauges work properly as well as cruise control. I have personally driven the truck about 6,000 miles since swap was completed. I welcome inquiries and inspections by serious buyers. Happy to send more pictures and answer questions. I have tried to capture the imperfections in the truck. The clear coat on the roof is fading. Also one of the sunroof cables is broken. The sunroof slides back and forth still, but I don't use it because of this. Included with the sale will be my part collection for this truck including exhuast brake, actuator, dual battery tray, etc. Vehicle is registered in Washington State as a Diesel. NOTE: Based on the VIN ebay will not allow me to change the fuel type to DIESEL. This is a DIESEL vehicle, not gas. Link to youtube walk around: http://youtu.be/oqUncFMhvJI UPDATE: I've had lots of inquiries about the truck and the reserve price. I have set the reserve at $15k so I expect this truck will sell at the end of the auction. Feel free to keep asking questions and I will keep updating the listing. Thanks! On Jun-08-15 at 23:11:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Second Update: Looking at the walk around video reminded me after the posting went live that the sunroof glass has a crack in it. Its visible in the pic of the roof as well. I will include a replacement glass assembly in the sale of the truck, though the crack has never caused me any problems. I have never had any leak issues in the truck...but when I saw a replacement glass affordable I bought it...just never installed. I also have received a few questions about the air conditioning. This truck had air conditioning with the stock motor and all the controls, piping, condensor, etc are present. Included in the spare parts is the original and functional compressor. However, I have not mounted it on the engine as its not used much of the year here. My understanding is that there are several outfits that make bracketry for mounting AC compressors on this motor though I never chose to pursue it. Lastly, I also built a matching pop-up camp trailer that the winning bidder will have first option to purchase. It is 6'x7', has two fold out queen beds, and is painted to match. It has a dexter 3500# axle with the Land Cruiser bolt pattern and I used the same stock wheels as are on this truck. I also purchased matching fender flares and mudflaps for the trailer to match the Land Cruiser. Message me if you would like pics of the trailer.
