Vehicle Detail
1970 BMW R75/5 with 10.5 gal. Heinrich tank, Black and Chrome COMPLETE MECHANICAL RESTORATION!!! Less than 4000 miles since complete rebuild. (13,200 current odometer mileage) (41,132) 0riginal odometer mileage) Vin # 2971505.One of the cleanest BMW R 75/5 you'll find out on the road Has undergone a complete front to back, top to bottom, inside out electrical, mechanical and cosmetic restoration. Have all receipts organized in a binder. Well, over $12,000.00 invested not including the Heinrich tank. Project began with a complete down to the frame tear down to the individual nut, screw and gasket level. Everything was then cleaned and degreased. Various Chrome parts were then re-chromed. Those we were unable to get cosmetically perfect, or which had outlived their useful life were replaced with BMW OEM parts. The entire frame was then powder coated with exact color match. Tank, front and rear fenders and headlamp housing were then sent to the one painter in Ca. at the time with the original BMW paint formulas who repainted each part and added pin stripping to fenders. All non-chromed metal-engine casing, hubs, cylinder sleeves and other metallic parts-- were then completely stripped, de-greased and walnut shell blasted to clean and restore finish without leaving any abrasive residue within the engine. The entire engine and it's internals were then completely rebuilt with BMW OEM parts- rings, brackets, bushings, seals, gaskets, etc. By Irv Seaver BMW in Orange, CA. All components of the electrical system, wiring harnesses, etc were also rebuilt/replaced by Irv Seaver BMW. When Chrome job on wheels turned out to be less than perfect, they were completely rebuilt using BMW OEM parts by Canton Cycle BMW (CT). Mufflers, exhaust piping, handlebars, shocks, shock covers and various other Magura and BMW OEM parts were added/swapped out to complete restoration. ( One concession was that newer Koni shocks were used rather than BMW OEM shocks, though did install new BMW OEM shock covers). PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!!! This bike is a truly unique jewel!! This is a SWB bike, frame lacks battery cover brackets, but they are secured with spring and industrial-strength double stick tape. Has under the seat tool tray, but not original tool kit.
