Up for grabs is this great GL1000 Project bike. I acquired this motorcycle from the second owner, he knew I was a retired motorcycle technician and wanted to give the bike a second chance on life. Miles are original, previous owner used it to commute to work downtown for years. The bike has been parked for a few years now. Here is what I know about the bike.... The Good. Dyna Ignition and Coils installed and in good working order. Clean California title on non-op so no back registration fees. Vetter fairing and mount (cracked fairing). Anco rack w/ trunk. Motor runs great, smokes a tad on the right side when fired up but goes away. Compression is #1 170 #2 163 #3 160 #4 172. Carbs cleaned so no green nasty in them, they will need packing kits (o rings etc,..). The charging system works ok 13.84 v @ 3500 rpm. Radiator fan cycles on and off. Gauges all work. The Bad....This is NOT a running/ driving bike. No battery. Bike not running at this time.Tank needs to be flushed, old gas in it. Clutch cable frozen. Brakes not working ( do have new brake lines for you). Tires are old and rotten. Fairing is cracked at top. So there you have it, this would make a great bike for someone with a little skill, I just don't have the time.
