Vehicle Detail

- Low mileage: 129.375 - Clean title - In good driving condition. Sound and fully functional. The car is incredibly fun to drive. Very zippy, very responsive, quite powerful for its small size, very cute. I still drive it every day. Driving this car makes almost every other car you drive afterwards feel like you are driving a minivan. - We are a family of convertible lovers, there is simply nothing like a small zippy convertible for having fun with every errand you run. And you are no longer commuting, you are having fun. It really pains us to sell this car. This was the funnest family car we ever owned! However, our 3 kids are getting too big for back seat. - Transmission and clutch good. 5 speed manual - Brakes work great. - Tires great, they have 20,875 miles on them, were rotated regularly. - New professional paint job in 2008. Exterior is in excellent condition, looks 7 years old and not 18. Shiny, sparkly, bright red paint. A few tiny scratches, but nothing like you would normally find on an 18 year old car. Reason for paint job: Car was driven in California and faded, so was repainted by first owner's garage. Small dent in passenger door (just dent, no paint damage). - No major mechanical defects, some minor issues and normal wear and tear, to be expected with an older car. - Started up and ran without any problems every morning this past brutal East Coast winter, no matter how cold/damp/snowy/icy it was. Interior heating is a little slow to get fully warm in the winter. - No warning lights on. - Roof is manual, meaning, you unhook it in the front and simply fold it back. Not much strength needed. Roof is good, a few areas need repair, a little rain trickles in on one side during heavy rain only. I would describe it as the occasional "drip irrigation", and not more. - All power windows work, all power door locks work, also trunk lock and glove compartment lock - No cracks to windows, mirrors or dashboard - All original manuals available. - Extensive repair and maintenance records available, car has been meticulously maintained and serviced (we believe it is the only way to keep a car alive and well). - Brand-new back struts/shocks/suspension installed last month, a $270 repair. - Other recent repairs: new oxygen sensor 02/13 new radiator 8/2013 new breather assembly 8/2013 new oil pan gasket 8/2013 new rear section exhaust replacement 8/2013 new rear condensor 08/13 new oil filter housing gasket 11/13 new oil filter gasket 11/13 new water pump 02/14 new thermostat assembly and gasket 02/14 - 5 seat belts installed in rear instead of the standard-issue 4. You can take 3 passengers in the back instead of the usual 2. The back space is sufficient for 3 kids, or for 2 regular adults, or 3 very slender adults. - As a special feature, there is a trailer hitch installed in rear and the car is wired for a trailer. We already owned a trailer, and we had the hitch installed so we could make the occasional trip to Ikea, the garden center for mulch, picking up people and their numerous suitcases from the airport, etc. We only used the trailer a couple of times a year at the most. With 115 hp, the car is well able to deal with a trailer. - Alarm system - Air conditioning - New stereo system in 2009, which means CD player and radio, which includes a slot for connecting an mp3 player. There are working, standard front and back speakers, but not a fancy surround system. The antenna is partially broken off, but you can still get radio reception. -Trunk is pretty reasonably sized for a convertible - Please be aware that you are buying an 18 year old car. There are the minor issues and the general wear and tear to be expected with age (back seat has a small tear, driver's side mirror is a replacement, interior heat is a little slow, cruise control wire got disconnected a while ago, so would need to be reconnected.). Older cars do need a certain amount of TLC. We are trying to be as honest and transparent as we can in listing this car. However, there may be other problems with the vehicle which are not apparent, visible, or known, consistent with the age of the car. - Car is being sold 'as is' 'where is' condition. - Once the vehicle is paid for there are NO REFUNDS and NO RECOURSE. - A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of auction, otherwise the car will be relisted or sold locally. Balance is due as cash or cashier's check within 10 days of end of auction. No personal check, no Paypal, no credit cards. Only after receiving 100% of the payment will we release the title to the new owner. INFORMATION CONCERNING PICK UP OF CAR: Pickup must occur within 10 DAYS of the end of auction. WINNING BIDDER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING THE VEHICLE UP, OR FOR ARRANGING PICK-UP. Payment balance needs to be made in full (cash or cashier's check only, no personal checks, no Paypal, no credit cards) before or at the latest at pick-up within 10 days of end of auction or title will not be released. If car is not picked up and paid for within 10 days of end of auction, the car will be relisted or sold locally. The deposit is not refundable if car is not picked up within 10 days of end of auction. We would be willing to pick you up at the Wilmington or Philly airports or the Wilmington Amtrak and Greyhound stations. Buyers may schedule an appointment to view the car or have it inspected by a mechanic of their choice and at their own expense by calling us at 302 777 5078. Contact us with any questions and concerns you may have. We are trying to be as honest and transparent as possible. There is no hidden reserve. If you are the only bidder the car will be yours at $2299.
