1974 DODGE DART - "HANG 10" EDITION. REBUILT MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION WITH LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON THEM. VERY RARE COLLECTOR CAR. SOME INDICATE THAT ONLY 1400 WERE MADE, AND SOME OTHER SOURCES SAY ONLY 500 WERE MADE, AND IT IS UNKNOWN HOW MANY STILL EXIST. HERE IS A CLIP FROM THE INTERNET EXPLAINING THE HANG 10 OPTION. The Hang 10 is a car that West Coast surfers will probably recall faster than anyone on the opposite shore, never mind folks from the Midwest. Most publications list the car under honorable mention, but the aforementioned registry has plenty of details. It first appeared at dealerships during mid-1974 production; all were built on the Dart Sport platform and sprayed in eggshell white with your choice of three engines and only an automatic. It was assembled under the A63 option code as a dress-up package. All cars with this option featured orange shag carpet, flashy seat and door panel inserts, a red-topped console and select areas of the dash painted red. A folding rear seat was standard, offering enough space to fit your favorite board. Hang 10 logos graced the horizontal plane of the nose (in front of the hood) and rear panel, while red and blue side stripes ran to the aft end met by--what else?--a surfer. SURFERS WERE ABLE TO FOLD DOWN THE REAR SEAT AND OPEN THE TRUNK HATCH COMPARTMENT TO ALLOW LENGTHY SPACE FOR SURFBOARDS. THIS CAR IS POWERED BY A REBUILT 318 MOTOR AND REBUILT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES VERY NICE. IT HAS DRIVER QUALITY PAINT, THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL TO THE CAR AND CAN BE USED AS IS, OR FRESHENED UP IF SHOW CONDITION IS DESIRED.
