Vehicle Detail
1978 FORD F150 "SHORT BED" 4X4 RANGER PICKUP TRUCK This is the One you've been waiting for !!! Up for sale is a really nice, hard to come by1978 Ford f150 Ranger "Shortbed" 4x4, with factory AC, Previous Owner has owned it for 25 years, and took very good care of it ! Only 20,000 miles on a rebuilt 351 V8, Only 120,000 on truck itself. Truck has been in dry climate northern Nevada for the majority of its life, so you know its "Rust Free" Very solid , very straight body, only rust was just a bit on rear drivers side as shown, I kinda sprayed primer way more than needed, Lol, it was small!! The undercarriage is awesome, very solid, The silver and blue paint is old and faded, but still looks ok in my opinion, the silver is not primer, its an older metallic paint that's faded. This would be the perfect truck to make into a show truck, or leave be and enjoy. Like I said earlier, it has a rebuilt 351 M engine in it, with 20,000 mi. since rebuilt. It runs very good, very tight engine, I've noticed engine has no leaks!! It goes down the street like a "Bad Ass" Practically New 33 in. BF Goodrich AT tires, nice 15 in wheels, Truck starts very easy and effortlessly, always on its 1st try, just pump the pettle a couple times and "Vrooom". Idle stays high in warm up mode, then will drops to normal after warm. 4 speed manual tranny feels fine, no weird noises, clutch feels average, don't know how long its been replaced, brakes feel average, stops ok, no noises, also don't know when replaced. 4 wheel drive works fine, hubs turn with a easy click, has not been used 4 wheeling much. I believe it has a 9 inch rear/ Dana 44 front. All new bushings, "see in pics" Truck has duel fuel tanks as well. Interior is very clean, no rips in carpet, nice seat cover, Has "Factory AC", but doesn't blow cold, heater works fine, doors open and close good, very solid, side panels looks good, dash has some cracks, but theres a cover, windows roll up and down fine, all glass is good, locks work fine, there is a crack in the one taillight, but it can be easily replaced, I seen them all over Ebay for around $20.00, or even at a auto store. Odometer/ speedometer work fine, All gauges work except gas gauge doesn't read right, Lights work. So there you have it, another example of a nice, hard to find F150 shortbed that has been taken care of, but please keep in mind this is a 1978, it is not new, I have tried to describe the truck as much as I know, and be as honest as possible, and I hope you'll enjoy it for years to come! The last picture is just another truck I seen on ebay a while ago that sold for for almost $10,000. it had high miles, like 180-190 k, engine was never rebuilt or replaced. I just thought you'll like to see it, its basically the same truck, just with a new paint, and accessories. If you have any more questions please email, or call (707) 953-8291, Don , I also know of a transporter who is lower costing then most. they are Montway Transporters. they are big on "Uship", lots of good reviews, you can go directly trough them at Montway.com and do a easy online quote. I'd be glad to help you as well. Thank You!
