Vehicle Detail

Well, the time has come to recognize that I’m getting older and need to adjust my ”hobbies” to my current lifestyle. As a longtime British motorcycle enthusiast and owner, and following the sale of my Norton Commandos, it is now time to sell the “jewel” of my stable, this 1970 Triumph Bonneville. This is an immaculate and expertly restored, numbers matching motorcycle ready to show, ride, or display in your living room. Bike starts, runs, rides perfectly, as one would expect from this level of restoration. This bike was restored approximately 15 years ago by Bill Bruhn of Wheeling, W.VA., and has been ridden less than 400 miles since. Mr. Bruhn is the son of a former Triumph dealer, and for many years owned and operated Edgewood Service Co., an automotive repair and speed tuning shop, and former Triumph motorcycle dealership. Bill honed his Triumph skills from his teen years on, and is well known for his meticulous motorcycle and automotive restoration skills. He later campaigned a Corvette “fuelie” and became a well known Corvette racer and tuner. He is now retired and owns and builds impeccable street rods. Bill did a nut and bolt restoration on this Bonneville, including thorough engine and transmission rebuilds from the crank up, new Amals, new OEM standard bore pistons and rings, and virtually all metal and rubber parts replaced or redone. All parts were OEM or NOS. Bill then sold the bike to Tom Armbrecht, also of Wheeling, W.VA, who, ironically, did not know how to ride a motorcycle and purchased the Bonneville as an investment piece of art. I purchased the bike from Tom in 2003 and have ridden it occasionally over the past 12 years. This is a very high quality motorcycle that now needs a new owner to appreciate and enjoy it. Serious bidders are welcome to come and see the bike at my home near Atlanta with or without an expert advisor.*Motorcycle is sold as-is, where is, and with no warranty expressed or implied. **Buyer responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs, though I can deliver motorcycle to local shipper location following full payment. On Apr-24-15 at 05:59:45 PDT, seller added the following information: ***UPDATE 4/24 - Have just located the full photo album documenting steps of the restoration and will, of course, include it with the motorcycle and Triumph books. On Apr-25-15 at 12:36:40 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 4/25 - Several inquiries regarding recent services and tool kit. Original tool kit is with the bike and will, of course, be included in sale. Bike just completed service with local Brit bike shop (Invoice included with sale if buyer would like it), including checking/adjusting valves, points/timing, replacement of fuel lines, carburetor cleaning and tuning, etc. I rode the bike 20+ miles yesterday and it performed beautifully.
