Up for sale with a no reserve auction is this solid 1983 VW vanagon. I acquired this van through a trade with another dealer. It is very solid by my estimation and I have included many photos to try to show an accurate condition for this van. It is a manual trans 4 speed, air cooled 2 liter. All original by what I can tell. I am not a VW expert so I will try to tell you as much as I know about this particular van. The van runs and drives and seems to have all of the power that you would expect for this model. I have only had the van for a week and haven't tested very much myself except for diving it around for a couple of days. The previous dealer tested the refrigerator and stove. He states that the refrigerator works on the propane and 12v options. He did not try the 110v hookup however. Also the propane stove works as well. I have put the camper top up and down and the rear bed and they seem to work very well. The van starts right up and drives down the road very well and nice and straight. It has 4 Yokohama Super Van tires that have plenty of tread. The radio works and so do all of the exterior lights and turn signals. The van seems to very original and there has been minimal modifications. What it needs: I have never driven one of these vans before and it seems like the brakes need some work. It stops, but I think it may need a master cylinder. The brakes are very spongy. The speedometer was working when I got it and stopped on my first ride. The odometer did clock almost 100 miles since its last inspection, and I know it was barely driven, so it had to be working. I did not check into why it stopped working. The interior dash lights do not work, the switch seems like it is broken. As far as I know those are the problems that need to be addressed. PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE SERIOUS.
