This truck was purchased new here in Tucson, AZ from Precision Toyota back in 1985 and never left Tucson. The original owner passed away at age 91 earlier this year and the truck was given to the owner's barber who had cut his hair for many years as part of the original owner's will/estate. The barber, who was also elderly, put the truck up for sale here locally and I was fortunate enough to be the first to see it and the moment I saw it, I knew this was a special truck. The day he purchased the truck he took it to Shells Unlimited here in Tucson (long out of business now) and had a custom padded kit put in the truck bed and a shell put on the truck. It remained on the truck until I removed it to find a mint condition inner bed that had never seen the light of day since 1985. I do have pictures of the truck with the shell and the padded kit before I removed it. I mean, it looks BRAND new inside the bed of this truck. The truck was always garaged and had dark window tint put on the windows so the inside of the truck was very well preserved as you can see from the pictures. The tint has been removed since I bought the truck as it was very old. The dash had a cover on it since 1985 and has no cracks and looks beautiful. The seats were covered and are in mint condition with no signs of wear, fade or tearing. The carpet also looks excellent as are all the plastics and glass. The weather stripping is all soft and supple. Everything works on the truck including the original radio and cold AC. Windows and door locks work effortlessly. The only flaw on the interior is the drivers sun visor has a tear in it and this can easily either be replaced from another truck or recovered. The paint is all original and in superb condition. Body is nearly perfect with one small dent in the passenger's door just in front of the door handle and a few very minor scratches and blemishes (it's a 30 year old truck). Factory decals are in great shape. All lights and lenses are bright and clear. Grill is mint. Tires are new. Truck runs and drives great and has the legendary 22R engine (Carb not FI). The five speed transmission shifts perfectly. Only a tick over 79K miles on this truck and it looks and drives like new. The original spare tire has never been on the road and the original jack and tools are mint condition and never used. I have all the original owner's manuals still in the Precision Toyota plastic binder in incredible condition. This is a very sweet truck and I can't imagine finding another in this condition ever. This could easily be sitting in a dealership showroom to commemorate the vintage Toyota pickup that gave Toyota it's reputation of reliability and longevity. The buyer will not be disappointed with this truck. Also, the original owner's estate could not find any documented maintenance records on the truck so all that I have is the original owner's manual and documents that came with the truck when purchased new at the dealership (no window sticker). I also am getting questions about if I think the truck would make a long drive and the answer is yes, I don't see any reason why the truck wouldn't drive across the country. No leaks, no smoking, drives smooth and straight like you would expect a Toyota with this low mileage drive. Lastly, questions about rust around the windshield area which can be common on these trucks: this truck has absolutely no rust ANYWHERE on the truck. The original paint is in excellent condition and shines like new with no fade or burn from the sun.
