Vehicle Detail
A 1970 Mercedes Benz 280. I am the executor of the estate of the deceased individual who owned this car. The odometer on this car reads 13,939. There are only five digits on the odometer, so it is possible that the actual mileage is 113,939 or perhaps 213,939. The interior condition, the upholstery and the seats are in near excellent condition, which makes me suspect it is actually 13,939 miles. It appears that the owner had purchased the car in Germany, and had it shipped to the US. It appears that it has not been driven since at least 1994. The tab on the license plate is dated 1994. The car appears to have been stored in the owner's garage, as the exterior was in near excellent condition when the estate was commenced. I believe the exterior is still in near excellent condition, although it has been stored outside for the past two years, which has made it dirty. There is very little rust that I could see. The cosmetic condition of the car is near excellent, especially considering the car's age. I believe but am not sure that this car has six cylinders. Potential problems with the car that I am aware of:The car is not running. I don't know what needs to be done to make the engine run.The rear tires are flat. The rear suspension seems low. Some of the rubber in the dashboard vent has disintegrated.Car is sold "as is". You are welcome to come look at the car, which is in our parking area in the Ballard area, Seattle, Washington. Please email me with questions or if you would like any additional pictures. On Mar-25-15 at 15:18:47 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: I added some additional pictures on 3/25/2015. These are pictures of the bottom of the car, the wheel areas, the tail pipes and the muffler. I have looked in the wheel areas and around the bottom of the car and I do not see any rust. The exhaust pipes do have some rust. There also appears to be some rust on the muffler. On Mar-30-15 at 14:51:43 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: A prospective buyer came by today, who identified the following problems with the car: It is missing an air filter cover, the motor mount needs to be replaced, and there is rust under the brake booster. He also said that he believed that the trunk area may have been rebuilt, although I didn't understand the basis for this opinion.
