This 81 Corvette was originally from Texas and sat since 1990 until the previous owner purchased it to use as parts. Not having the heart to disassemble a low mileage Corvette, he decided to sell. The car was originally Beige with a tan interior. The Texas owner changed it to Burgundy exterior with a Silver interior. We decided to keep the car as original as possible with a color change to Black. The motor did not run for many years. A new fuel pump, rebuilt 4bbl carburetor, new oil with filter and a complete tune up brought life to this 350. Transmission pan was leaking so a new filter and gasket was replaced and the transmission shifts fine. The exhaust had a newer cat back system installed a long time ago. A plan for headers and side pipes was on the agenda. There is a small leak by the heat riser. The power steering hoses were replaced to isolate the leak. Previous owner said it was the hoses. The control valve is leaking so I would have that rebuilt along with the ram. The brakes were redone a long time ago so the pads are good. The right rear caliper should be replaced since I do not think it's working to well. The shocks were also replaced and are still good. Tires are new BF Goodrich T/A Radials. We lost interest in the project when we began putting the interior back to the original color. With so many options for interior upgrades, we decided to let the new owner personalize it his or her own way. The headlights go up and down and turn on as they should. Some of the gauges do not work. The driver's door was disassembled by previous owner. These doors should be completely rebuilt with new window roller kit, motor and power door lock motor. The passenger window goes up and down but is slow. Car has 40K miles and a clear title.
